We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Troy Morrow Jr.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Troy below.
Alright, Troy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started you own firm sooner?
If I could go back in time, I’d say I wish I had started sooner. I’ve been involved in construction and remodeling for years, primarily through the insurance industry working hands-on, learning various trades, and seeing firsthand how projects come together from the ground up. Before launching my own business, I was already deeply involved in the estimating process just doing it on behalf of someone else.
When I finally decided to take the leap and go out on my own, I realized I should’ve trusted my skills, experience, and vision earlier. The years I spent working under others taught me a lot about the business side of construction and the importance of quality and consistency, but I’ve learned that nothing compares to the lessons that come from actually running your own company.
Starting earlier would have given me more time to establish my brand, grow my client base, and build long-term partnerships. That said, I don’t regret the timing entirely every step of the journey prepared me for the level of leadership, discipline, and accountability it takes to operate successfully in this industry.
Looking back, I’m grateful for the path that got me here, but if I knew then what I know now, I definitely would’ve taken that leap a few years sooner.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Troy Morrow Jr., and construction has been a part of my life for the last 6 years, but I didn’t start out as a business owner. My journey began in the insurance side of the industry, working behind the scenes on property claims, estimates, and restoration projects. I spent years learning how things were built, how they were damaged, and most importantly, how to bring them back to life.
Over time, I realized I was doing more than just paperwork and numbers I was learning the heartbeat of construction. I got hands-on experience in the field, working with different trades, understanding how each piece comes together, and seeing firsthand the impact good craftsmanship can have on someone’s home and peace of mind.
That’s when something clicked. I knew I wanted to take what I’d learned and build something of my own a business that people could trust. I wanted to combine my understanding of the insurance process with the quality and care that homeowners deserve when they’re rebuilding or remodeling. So, I took a leap of faith and started my own construction and remodeling company.
Today, we specialize in home renovations, remodels, and insurance restoration work helping clients transform their spaces while keeping the process smooth, transparent, and stress-free. What sets my company apart is our personal approach. We don’t just come in to complete a job; we take the time to understand the story behind each project whether it’s a family restoring their home after a loss or a homeowner finally investing in the dream kitchen they’ve always wanted.
I take pride in every project we complete, but what I’m most proud of is the trust and relationships we’ve built along the way. My team and I stand on honesty, communication, and craftsmanship. When clients choose us, they know they’re getting more than a contractor they’re getting someone who truly cares about the end result and the experience along the way.
At the heart of my brand is a simple promise: to build with integrity and purpose. Whether we’re restoring, remodeling, or completely reimagining a space, we do it with pride, passion, and respect for the people we’re serving. That’s what my work and my story is all about.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building genuine relationships and letting my work speak for itself. In construction and remodeling, word of mouth is everything. Most of my clients come from referrals people who had a positive experience and passed my name along because they trusted the quality, communication, and follow-through.
From day one, I made it a priority to treat every project like it was my own property. Whether it’s a small repair or a full renovation, I focus on being transparent, reliable, and delivering results that exceed expectations. That consistency has naturally led to repeat business and long-term relationships with both homeowners and industry partners.
Another key strategy has been staying connected to the insurance and real estate side of the industry. Because of my background in estimating and restoration, I’ve been able to partner with adjusters, agents, and property managers who value having a contractor who understands both construction and documentation. That’s helped me build a steady pipeline of clients who need someone they can trust to handle projects from start to finish.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What’s helped me build my reputation in this industry has been a combination of consistency, communication, and care. From the start, I made it my goal to build a business where people could feel confident that when they call me, the job’s going to get done the right way.
Coming from the insurance side of construction, I learned early on that details matter not just in the work itself, but in how you treat people. Whether I’m working with a homeowner who’s dealing with a stressful loss or someone excited about their dream remodel, I make sure they feel heard, informed, and respected throughout the entire process. That personal touch has gone a long way in setting my company apart.
Another big factor has been honoring my word. In this business, reputation travels fast. If you show up when you say you will, keep your promises, and stand behind your work, people notice and they remember. Over time, that’s turned into trust, repeat business, and strong referrals.
I also think my willingness to go above and beyond has played a big role. I don’t just aim to finish projects I aim to leave an impression. Whether it’s through craftsmanship, transparency, or follow-up after the job is done, I want every client to feel like they made the right choice trusting me and my team.
At the end of the day, my reputation was built the same way as the projects I work on with a solid foundation and attention to detail.
