We were lucky to catch up with Dante Joy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dante, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
The first time I truly knew I wanted to pursue a creative, artistic path professionally was the moment I started working with Balboa_Unlimited. Before then, modeling was something I enjoyed, but it didn’t feel like a pathway—more like a possibility. That changed the day he gave me a real opportunity to step into myself.
I still remember walking onto that first set: the lights, the energy, the direction, and the way he saw potential in me before I fully saw it in myself. It wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was the moment someone opened a door I didn’t realize I was allowed to walk through. Working with him gave me not only confidence but a foundation—proof that I could grow, that I belonged, and that this path was worth committing to.
That experience set everything in motion. It’s where my career began to flourish into what it is today, and it’s the moment I look back on as the spark—the point where passion turned into purpose.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Dante Marquis Joy, and I’m a model and creative whose work is rooted in storytelling, presence, and authenticity. I stepped into the industry through an opportunity with Balboa_Unlimited, and that moment became the foundation of everything I do today. That collaboration opened my eyes not only to what I could do in front of the camera, but to the power of creative expression as a whole. From there, my passion expanded into photography, directing concepts, and creating visuals that help other artists see themselves in a new light.
Today, I provide a range of creative services—from modeling, to visual storytelling, to producing shoots and brand concepts. My work is about helping clients bring their visions to life with clarity, confidence, and intention. Whether I’m in front of the camera or behind it, my focus is always on capturing something real—personality, energy, emotion, or the story behind the subject.
What sets me apart is my dual perspective: as both a model and a photographer, I understand how to create moments that feel natural and powerful. I know how to guide clients, how to pose, how to highlight someone’s best angles, and how to build an environment where they feel comfortable enough to shine. My goal is to make people feel seen, valued, and elevated through the images we create together.
I’m most proud of the growth of my brand, Taejusshotit, and the community I continue to build with other creatives. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that everything I create is driven by passion, professionalism, and purpose. My mission is to inspire others to step into their own creative paths, just like someone once did for me.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to connect with so many different types of people. Modeling and creating give me access to a wide range of personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives that I might have never encountered otherwise. Every shoot, every collaboration, every new face comes with a story—and I genuinely enjoy learning about those stories.
Building connections and forming real bonds is what fuels me. I love the way creativity breaks down barriers and gives people a reason to open up, share their vision, or express who they are. Being able to network, exchange ideas, and grow alongside other creatives is not just inspiring—it’s one of the greatest gifts of this path. It keeps me evolving, expanding, and staying grounded in the community that supports me.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by staying consistent, showing up even when the results weren’t immediate, and connecting with people in a genuine way. I’ve always believed that your energy attracts the right opportunities, so I make it a priority to stay positive, stay open, and stay engaged with my community. Whether it’s through comments, DMs, collaborations, or simply showing love to other creators, I treat social media like a space to build real relationships—not just numbers.
Another big part of my growth came from not being afraid to speak up or put myself out there. You can’t grow if you stay hidden. I pushed myself to venture out, attend events, meet new people, and put my work in places where it could be seen. Every connection created another door.
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is this: be consistent, be authentic, and protect your mindset. Social media can be unpredictable and sometimes negative, but the way you think determines how far you go. Stay positive in every situation—even when it feels challenging. Positive thoughts sow positive rewards. If you keep showing up with good energy, a good heart, and a willingness to grow, your audience will come naturally.
