We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noelle Morovich. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noelle below.
Noelle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
I have done a fantastic job of building a community of clients who truly care about myself and my staff. We provide the best pet care and truly love our clients pets as if they were our own and truly become a part of their families. We get to know each other on a more personal level than other industries do with their clients. Because of this I think is why I have had several clients do kind and selfless acts to help me. Here are some examples of exceptional kindness I have experienced from our clients.
One time a few years back I was having battery issues with my Prius and was stranded at a client’s home. Now the error message on the dashboard had me worried it was the hybrid battery rather than the regular car battery. I remembered another one of my client’s was a “Prius expert” so I called to ask for advice and instead of just giving me advice him and his wife drove the 15-20 mins to the other client’s home I was at that night. He determined it was the regular battery and they drove me to two different auto shops to find the right car battery just before closing and then drove me back to my car and in the dark he safely changed out my battery for me so I did not remain stranded. Such a kindness that I never expected and so appreciated.
When I was going through a break up after a 7 year relationship several clients texted to check in on me and made sure I was well fed by inviting me over for dinner and making sure I knew I was cared about.
One of my employees was in a car accident a few years ago and I gave her some additional money to help out with expenses and that inspired some of our clients to donate funds to help her as well. We truly do have very kind and generous clients.
Another example is during the height of the COVID pandemic was a few clients willingly sent me checks to help ease the financial burden of the business being slower due to the pandemic restrictions. I will forever be grateful for the kindness and generosity of these clients.
I could go on and on about the kindness of Paws in the Land clients. We are very blessed to have built such a strong and caring client community and continue to build this client community.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I founded Paws in the Land in the summer of 2019. I had previously been helping run another pet sitting business for a few years and had done pet sitting on the side prior to that for many years. I have my degree in small business management from Tri-C & knew from the time I was a small child I wanted to be a business owner.
People have always said I have a magic like ability to understand and connect with animals and I’ve been a cat & dog lover since I was a small child & always wanted to have a career working with animals.
So in July of 2019 after consulting with a business attorney to make sure I legally could start my own pet care business & to ensure I got started on the right foot, I founded Paws in the Land LLC.
Paws in the Land was founded on these principles: to provide quality & reliable pet sitting, dog walking/training & pet photography services in the comfort of the pets own home. Build client relationships with mutual honesty & mutual respect. Pet care that focuses on pet safety, comfort & happiness. Maintain my person values & integrity and be able to be open about my support for equality, women’s rights, minority rights & LGBTQ+ rights.
We provide pet sitting, dog walking, cat sitting, dog & puppy training, insulin and sub q fluids to pets who have those medical needs & pet photography services. All of our services are provided at our clients homes so the pets remain in their comfortable and familiar environment. We service the greater Cleveland, OH area including but not limited to: Cleveland proper, Cleveland Heights, Bratenahl, Collinwood, Ohio City, Tremont, West Park, Old Brooklyn, Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairview Park, Bay Village, Westlake, North Olmsted, Avon, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville, Berea & more.
What sets us apart is we truly customize each visit to your pets specific needs & comfort. Our focus is always putting your pets first. We are very attune to pet behavior & energies & notice right away if your pets are observing signs of anxiety or discomfort and we adapt the visits to make each pet calm and comfortable and change our approach based on the pets comfort level and happiness. We also specialize in working with anxious cats and dogs. Because of my own journey with CPTSD and anxiety, ADHD & ASD, I have a very in depth understanding of triggers & sensory sensitivities and how to handle those triggers/sensory overload in a healthy way by using exposure and desensitization tactics to help re train the brain to associate what is a trigger with a positive experience instead. I also can recognize when it is best to just remove the pet from the situation so we can calm overstimulation and help regulate their anxiety, etc. This crosses over into the pet world as well and works to help pets be less reactive to triggers and to help them become more confident and happy.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Some back story on me. I was raised in an extremely conservative Calvinist/Reformed Evangelical Christian home. Was homeschooled birth through 18. It was a very oppressive upbringing and my family did their best to brainwash me into their thinking. They informed me at age 12 that their plan for my life was once I was an adult was to find me a man who matched their views and force me to enter into courtship and eventually marry that man and birth babies and home school them to raise the next generation of conservative Calvinist/Reformed evangelicals to try to influence this agenda of racism, sexism, misogyny & homophobia on the country at large. Somehow I knew at 12 this was very wrong and problematic thinking and I wanted to escape this plan so I could learn what was actually good and right and live my own life without being controlled. So
I made up my mind at age 12 to learn as much as I could to make sure their plan for my life NEVER happened!!! I made it my mission to find ways to learn as much as possible about equality, feminism, how to support myself once an adult, etc etc.
At age 20 I ended up leaving my family’s home to truly make a life for myself. It was a many year process of deconstruction and unlearning toxic ideas & relearning a more inclusive and accurate way of thinking. This is a big reason why I take such an open stance on equality, feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, minority rights, etc, as a person and business owner to this day. I have to take a blatant stance against the hate my family tried to force me to believe. They didn’t succeed and that is something I am so proud of.
I made up my mind at 20 that no matter what struggles I went through there is NOTHING that would ever cause me to fail enough that I would ever have to go back to my family and live under their oppressive thinking. I think that is what has motivated me to be resilient no matter what struggles I’ve had in life and as a small business owner. No mater what happens I will always find a way to get back up and survive and thrive. I have been through a lot the last 15 plus years since leaving. Dating the wrong men, being cheated on, a divorce & a bankruptcy 2 years before starting the business, career changes, times of hunger, times of having to learn what healthy truly looks like in a relationship and friendships, learning how to set boundaries, ADHD diagnosis and 27 and learning I am also level 1 Autistic & the struggle & relief that come from finding this out late in life. Also the COVID 19 pandemic happening 6 months after opening business and the challenges that came with having to find a way to be successful as a business in spite of that. Throughout every single struggle and curve ball I’ve been thrown personally and professionally I’ve reminded myself that as long as I continue to find a way to stand for what’s right, find a way to never have to go back to my toxic family & continue to grow and become a better human than I am succeeding and I find a way to never give up.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Client referrals continues to be the best source for quality clients. When you develop a great relationship with your clients and are authentic and provide the best service your clients will want to continue to refer their friends and family to you. Which is exactly what we have done so we continue to get referral business!
Another great source has been social media and our fantastic reputation for being named the best pet business in Cleveland three years in a row in Cleveland Scene magazine. (2023,2024,2025)
