We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alaina Martin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alaina below.
Hi Alaina, thanks for joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
Absolutely, I love being a business owner. I get to build something that’s mine, on my terms, with no limits it’s about creating a brand and a legacy, not just chasing money. Sure, sometimes I think about what having a regular job would be like again, but that’s fleeting; I’ve never been wired to just clock in and wait for a paycheck. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 4, and for me, building a business is about strategy, vision, and control having something long-term that grows with me. I also believe even if you have a job, everyone should still have a business, investments, or another income stream so they’re not relying on just one source. At the end of the day, I’m happiest creating, building, and owning my lane that’s what being a business owner really means to me.

Alaina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a dominant woman who loves building brands, creating content, and getting paid to be unapologetically me. I run a creator business where my main focus is offering subscriptions and custom experiences for my audience, giving them exclusive behind-the-scenes access to my creative process and journey. I also share insights on content strategy, digital business, and new opportunities like crypto, helping other creatives understand how to grow and monetize their work.
What sets me apart is my mix of boldness, strategy, and authenticity I don’t just create content, I’m building a brand and a business that will last. I’m proud of carving my own lane in a competitive space and want my audience and potential clients to know that with strategy and confidence, they too can own their path and thrive on their own terms.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A big lesson I’ve had to unlearn is that there’s a “right” way to do business especially as a woman, society loves to tell us how we should run things, how we should act, and that the customer is always right. I’ve learned that true success comes from embracing my instincts, experimenting, and building a business that fits me, not someone else’s rules. I love astrology, tarot, and the idea of rebirth, and as a Scorpio, I’m naturally drawn to taboos and transformation. Each chapter of my life has taught me more about myself, and I’ve realized life and business is a giant experiment. No one really knows what they’re doing, so the best thing you can do is enjoy the journey, trust your intuition, and own your lane.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience for me is about know, like, and trust. I don’t position myself as an “expert,” I just share my journey online what works, what doesn’t, and what makes me happy. YouTube has become my main platform because it allows me to focus, create long-form content, and build real connections without getting distracted by other people’s feeds. I do a mix of roleplay/acting, education, vlogs, and podcasts, and I read comments, post polls, and use all the platform’s features to see what my audience wants more of. Long-form content helps build trust faster and brings people down the funnel in a meaningful way, but short-form has its place too. My advice for anyone starting is to find the platform that resonates with you, show your authentic journey, and engage with your audience the relationships you build are what really grow your brand.
