We recently connected with Emily Dewberry and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
When I started The Embody Edit, I thought the boldest part would be taking the leap, leaving behind what felt familiar to build something of my own. But what I’ve learned is that the real risk isn’t in starting something new — it’s in staying with it when it evolves, stretches you, and challenges everything you thought you knew about success.
Entrepreneurship in the wellness space isn’t always as effortless as it looks from the outside. There are seasons of growth and seasons of stillness, both equally vital. Right now, I’m learning to see this quieter season as part of the process: a chance to refine, reconnect, and rebuild in alignment with my mission.
Taking a risk, I’ve realized, isn’t a one time act. It’s an ongoing commitment to bet on yourself, even when the results aren’t instant, even when it’s uncomfortable. The Embody Edit continues to be my greatest teacher in trust, patience, and purpose.

Emily, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Emily Dewberry, the founder of The Embody Edit, a virtual wellness studio and education platform designed to help people manage stress, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect to themselves through breathwork, meditation, and mindful movement.
My journey into wellness started from personal experience. I’ve always been passionate about health and movement, but I found myself burned out and disconnected, going through the motions without feeling truly present. Learning how to use my breath as a tool to regulate my stress and calm my mind changed everything for me. That single shift inspired me to dive deeper into modalities like breathwork, meditation, and pilates, and eventually share them with others in a way that feels approachable and real.
At The Embody Edit, we focus on making wellness accessible — whether that’s through on-demand classes inside our app, in person and virtual corporate wellness programs, or professional trainings for facilitators who want to deepen their craft. Every offering is designed with the same goal in mind: to help people feel more connected, grounded, and capable of handling life’s daily pressures.
What sets The Embody Edit apart is the way we bridge modern living with practical, science-backed wellness tools. My approach is grounded and results driven. I want people to leave every class or session not just feeling better, but understanding why they feel better.
I’m most proud of the way this work has evolved. From teaching small group sessions to collaborating with national brands and corporate teams, all while maintaining the heart of what started it: helping people remember that calm, clarity, and confidence are already within them.
At its core, The Embody Edit is about helping people breathe better, move better, and live better. One small, intentional practice at a time.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Absolutely. I’m someone who believes that running a business and healing yourself often go hand in hand — the more regulated I am internally, the clearer I lead externally. One book that’s had a huge impact on both my personal and professional philosophy is Breath by James Nestor. It changed how I understand the science of stress and nervous system regulation, and I actually gift it to everyone who goes through my Breathwork Teacher Training if they haven’t read it yet. It’s such a powerful reminder that something as simple as our breath can transform the way we show up in life and business.
Two other books I return to again and again are Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and You Are the Placebo by Dr. Joe Dispenza. They speak to the intersection of neuroscience, belief, and identity — and how much of our success comes from reprogramming the subconscious patterns that hold us back. On a more reflective level, I reach for any of Brianna Wiest’s books when I need daily inspiration. Her writing is a gentle reminder to stay grounded through change, and to keep moving toward the version of yourself you know you’re capable of becoming.
Together, those authors and ideas have shaped not just how I teach and lead The Embody Edit, but how I approach my own growth with patience, consistency, and a deep belief that transformation happens one intentional breath at a time.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
Yes, The Embody Edit was designed as a multifaceted wellness platform that helps people integrate mindfulness and nervous system regulation into their everyday lives. The foundation of the brand is our virtual wellness app, which offers on-demand and live classes in breathwork, meditation, and mindful movement. It’s where people can consistently connect back to themselves, whether they have five minutes between meetings or want to carve out intentional time for a deeper reset.
Beyond the app, I partner with corporate teams and organizations to bring these same practices into the workplace. These sessions focus on stress management, emotional regulation, and building resilience, tools that translate directly into better focus, communication, and workplace culture.
Looking ahead to 2026, I’m developing a new immersive education experience that goes beyond traditional teacher training. It’s for anyone: whether they’re in leadership, healthcare, wellness, or simply passionate about self-development, who wants to learn how to use breath and meditative tools to better support their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It’s designed to deepen understanding, not just of the techniques, but of how to apply them in real life and in professional spaces.
Together, these offerings, the app, corporate wellness programs, and educational immersions reflect what The Embody Edit is really about: making well-being approachable, sustainable, and grounded in both science and self-awareness.
