Ricky , appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Starting Ricky’s first brick and mortar was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. From starting out in my garage hand delivering free samples to people all over DFW that found me on IG, having that overtake my full time job/school, part time landscaping/Uber/Door Dash side gigs, having to borrow money from everyone that believed in me, scouting for properties to signing a lease and building a restaurant from the ground up to see what it has become today.
I quit my job, school, sold my landscaping routes and focused everything on Ricky’s. It was all in or nothing at all and the first Ricky’s was born Feb. 2020.
Ricky , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m just your average everyday guy that fell in love with Nashville hot chicken and wanted everyone else to share the same experience I had having it for the first time!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Having started this journey out of my garage, customer relationships were always a big thing and social media helped us get that initial reach and customer base. Getting feedback always helps us get better.
We also love to give back to the community!
Some of our notable donations and special spotlights include schools, churches, mosques and discounts/free meals to LEO, military, teachers, hospital workers, fathers/mothers and students!

Surviving COVID and current economic times. Wages are up, food costs are up, competition has exploded but our prices remain! We will always continue to offer the best quality and value for our guests that we possibly can. Can’t control what everyone else does but we do what we do trusting God will guide the way!
