Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Verna Caddie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Verna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Years ago, when I first began walking in my purpose as a leader and mentor for young women, I faced an unexpected season of struggle. I was pouring into others, organizing community programs, and trying to build something meaningful—yet behind the scenes, I was weary. Resources were low, and there were days I wasn’t sure how I would keep everything going.
One evening, after speaking at a youth empowerment event, a woman I had never met before approached me. She said, “God told me to bless you.” I smiled politely, not knowing what she meant. Then she handed me an envelope and said, “Don’t stop what you’re doing—it’s changing lives.” When I got home and opened it, I found enough to cover my rent and the upcoming costs for my girls’ mentorship program. But even more than the money, it was the message that broke me open: God sees you.
That act of kindness reminded me that even leaders need to be lifted sometimes. It renewed my strength and affirmed that what I was doing mattered. To this day, I make it my mission to pass that same kindness forward—to pour into others, to sow into dreams, and to be the voice that says, “Keep going. God sees you.”
Because the kindest thing anyone ever did for me wasn’t just about what they gave—it was about reminding me who I am and Whose I am.
