We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nikola Sekulovic. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nikola below.
Alright, Nikola thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve had the opportunity to work on is HRC campaign. It’s meaningful to me because as an LGBTQ+ influencer I always want to make sure to amplify voices.

Nikola, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I became an influencer shortly after social media became monetized. I have previous experience as an international supermodel and my followers seem to enjoy my upscale yet outdoors feel I choose to post. I enjoy traveling and high end fashion so combining those two components works for me.
I’m extremely hard working so I took the opportunity of posting and created income through brand deals and ads, promoting products I use. I think my followers respect my opinions because I am particular and precise; I don’t like just anything.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an influencer is having full control of the creative direction. You choose the vision of your brand & you get to create the persona online from scratch. & you get to do that over & over again, as you grow & change as a person. I enjoy being able to choose not only how I look but the color palettes and the presets within editing. It’s fun.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built an audience by being consistent and having a set schedule with posting. Be you, first and foremost. People can feel authenticity. Pick a consistent preset for your photos, editing needs to be in unison… it is imagery at the end of the day and people enjoy as aesthetically pleasing content on Instagram.
Utilize multiple platforms but being able to “read the room” is important. What you post on Instagram doesn’t work on tiktok. Educate yourself on the platform. Put in the work, read the analytics and treat it like you would any other job. Or maybe that’s just me, as a Virgo.
