We were lucky to catch up with Yadiel Reyes recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Yadiel, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my first album. Just to even release a project is so meaningful to me. The album contains lots of different vibes and tracks. Records produced from Jayson ‘Koko’ Bridges, Grammy Winning Producer who’s won a Grammy on the production of Bad Boys 2 Soundtrack song “Shake Ya Tailfeather with Nelly, P. Diddy, and Murphy Lee, to DJ Rafi Mercenario, Daddy Yankee’s Official DJ & Producer for Ivy Queen, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Etc. Even a feature from 2 time Grammy winning lead singer of reggae band “Morgan Heritage,” Peetah Morgan. All these things for just my first album is so accomplishing and something to always remember.

Yadiel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

16 year old Yadiel Reyes, known professionally as Yady, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 14, 2005. His parents moved to Orlando, Florida when he was only 9 months old. He’s the youngest of two brothers and began expressing his love for music when he was 2 years old when he would play drums at home for hours. Soon after, he began taking guitar lessons and then taught himself how to play the piano. Described by his father as a good son and brother to his siblings, Yady quickly transitioned to urban music. His sound is influenced by R&B,HipHop, Pop and Latin music. In 2019, Yady debuted on digital platforms with his single ‘Remember’. In 2020, he hit his first 1M streams on Spotify with ‘Get Down’. After the good response from his fans, Yady made the ‘Get Down Remix’ including a music video, in collaboration with an Orlando based Dominican artist Flamen Beretta. ‘Get Down Remix’ also hit over 1M streams on Spotify and more than 1M views on YouTube. It was the #1 song for 5 weeks in the Honduras National Radio and #15 in Dominican Republic. Yady’s single ‘Shine’ has 1.9M combined streams and is synced on Twitch Gaming platform. Yady is ‘She Don’t Want Love’ a total of 2.6M combined. NOW he has completed production on his debut album ‘LOUDER THAN WORDS’ which includes 14 songs and 5 videos. It’s filled with amazing collaborations including 8 songs produced by GRAMMY winning producer Jason (Koko) Bridges, a feature with the lead singer of the two times Grammy winning Reggae Band Morgan Heritage, Peetah Morgan, and a song produced by the official Daddy Yankee DJ and legendary Reggaeton producer, DJ Rafy Mercenario. Recently Yady’s first promotional single for his album debut Feel This Way ft. Peetah Morgan was added to MTV network. Louder Than Words released on June 24 2022 has reached over 1M streams combine so far.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

I think the most awarding aspect is just to be able to create what music I feel like creating. Some days I could be down and create a sad feeling of songs. Other days I could be the happiest kid on earth and create something to get people moving. The aspect of putting together something that relates to me is just what makes the music more worth while. When others relate and feel what I say and feel through music, it’s just a great feeling you can’t get over.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

The biggest thing I wish I knew was Tiktok. I wasn’t a big TikTok fan before as I was just not interested in the content. I learned to give it a try and after seeing so many artist, producers, and songwriters start attaining lots of love from the TikTok community, I realized I missed a huge chance to connect with the community earlier. It’s something I regret not starting sooner. Tiktok is ruling the social media game right now so it would’ve been best to take my chance when I had it. You live and you learn though. Great thing about Tiktok is that you will always have a chance, no matter what time.
