We recently connected with Chelsea Luv and have shared our conversation below.
Chelsea , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking a risk has been at the core of every major turning point in my journey as an artist. I’ve learned that growth rarely happens in comfort — it happens in those moments when your heart’s racing, but you do it anyway.
One of my biggest risks was deciding to fully invest in myself — financially, creatively, and emotionally. There were moments that tested that decision: performing in front of growing crowds while dealing with anxiety, flying overseas alone to shoot visuals and collaborate, learning to direct my own projects, and trusting that the right doors would open if I stayed true to my craft. Each leap felt terrifying — but every time, the universe met me halfway. Every decision came with uncertainty. But what I found on the other side was freedom — the kind that comes from trusting your own vision and refusing to wait for permission.
There’s something sacred about betting on yourself. You might not have a guarantee of success, but you do gain proof of your own courage. And that courage becomes the foundation you keep building on — one risk, one song, one step at a time.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hey :) I’m ChelseaLuv. I’m a South Florida-born and raised contemporary R&B singer, songwriter, and performer with a deep love for storytelling through music. My sound blends the soul of 90s R&B with the vulnerability and cinematic feel of modern pop, and a touch of dreamscape.
I perform both as a solo artist and with several professional bands across South Florida, which keeps me sharp, versatile, and connected to every kind of audience. What sets my brand apart is how I fuse raw emotion with polish. I can deliver a stripped-down, soulful performance that feels intimate one moment, then bring that same energy to a big, high-powered stage the next. My sound lives somewhere in that space between vulnerability and strength — it’s soulful, heartfelt, and rooted in truth.
Right now, I’m bringing a long-awaited project to life — something deeply personal that ties together the sounds and stories I’ve been crafting over the years. In the meantime, I’ve been releasing singles that build the world around it, including “Don’t Play Wit It” and “At First Sight,” both released this year. Each release marks another step in my evolution. And I’m proud of carving my own lane — building everything from the ground up, writing songs that feel alive, and trusting my instincts when it would’ve been easier to play it safe. My brand is simple: emotion with intention. I want people to leave my music feeling seen, inspired, and just a little more fearless. Because that’s what music gives to me — and with it, I get to give that back.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is perfectionism — or, more specifically, the idea that I had to literally ‘perform’ ; as in become someone or something else in order to make a difference, connect with people, and stand out. But contrarily on my journey I’ve learned time and time again that it’s actually the moments when I’m not trying that make the biggest impact. It’s always the songs that only took ten minutes to write, the content I didn’t think anyone would watch, or the opportunities that came from the least expected places that end up being the best of the best.
I’ve been humbled throughout so many points on my path by how much power there is in simply showing up as myself. I’ve continuously relearned that what is most valuable about me is an integral part of who i am and is within me at all times — not something I have to create or chase. We’re all born with that spark, that call to action. And when we answer it with honesty instead of fear, that’s when we find real connection, real joy, and fulfillment.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is witnessing how something that started as a thought or feeling in my head can touch someone else’s life. There’s nothing like looking out into a crowd and seeing someone singing the words you wrote alone in your room — it’s the most surreal kind of full-circle moment.
Music has a way of finding people right where they are. Sometimes a song I almost didn’t release ends up being the one that helps someone heal, or dance again, or remember who they are. That’s the part that keeps me going — knowing that honesty has a ripple effect.
Every note, every lyric, every show is a reminder that art isn’t just about expression — it’s about connection. And when I get to be part of that exchange, it feels like pure magic.
