We recently connected with Preethi Balasubramanian and have shared our conversation below.
Preethi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
I grew up in a home where entrepreneurship wasn’t a buzzword — it was just life. My father ran his own business, which meant I saw everything up close: the wins, the heartbreaks, the betrayals, and the comebacks. I still remember him sitting at the dining table late into the night, reworking plans when things didn’t go as planned, yet waking up the next morning with the same conviction. Giving up was never an option — adapting was. That resilience became part of my wiring.
My mother, on the other hand, was the quiet anchor — a teacher by profession, and the definition of consistency. She balanced her job, our home, and our extended family with grace and grit. She showed me that true leadership often looks like service — showing up, not showing off.
Between them, I learned that success is built on people, not profit. That family isn’t what’s left after work — it’s what keeps the work meaningful. And that resilience isn’t loud — it’s choosing to begin again, every single day.
Their example is why I do what I do today — helping entrepreneurs find ease and structure, so they can build with heart and stay grounded through the ups and downs. It’s how I honour what I saw growing up: business with backbone, and life with heart.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I often say Wonder EA began long before it had a name. After years of helping executives, boards, and entrepreneurs manage operations and bring order to the whirlwind of business, I noticed a pattern: purpose-driven leaders weren’t burning out because they lacked skill — they were burning out because they were doing it all themselves.
That insight sparked Wonder EA — a space where entrepreneurs find the systems and support to scale sustainably without losing sight of their vision or well-being.
Coaching
3-Month Business Transformation Program 💼
You’re brilliant, passionate, and ready to grow — but daily chaos is holding you back. This 3-month coaching experience helps you identify bottlenecks, take focused weekly action, and build repeatable systems that reduce burnout and restore clarity.
By the end, you’ll have sustainable structure, stronger support, and space to scale.
Done-With-You Support
Many founders begin with the Transformation Program, then continue with hands-on implementation through:
Coach’s Companion 👩🏫 — streamline your client journey from onboarding to delivery
Entrepreneur’s Flow 🚀 — bring clarity, control, and seamless daily operations
Leader’s Amplifier 📝 — grow your content and impact without burnout
Business Builder 🏢 — strengthen internal systems and brand consistency for confident scaling
Every engagement is designed to bring back what most entrepreneurs lose along the way — ease, clarity, and time.
Beyond consulting, I’m the author of The Ease Equation: Systems + Support = Sustainable Success — described as “the playbook every overwhelmed entrepreneur needs.” With an MBA in HR & IT and certifications including ACEA, CCAP, and PACE, I blend strategy with empathy to humanize how businesses grow.
Because business should feel balanced, not burdensome.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
If there’s one thread that runs through my journey, it’s reinvention. I’ve started, paused, and restarted my career more times than I can count — each time in a new country, a new role, or a new version of myself.
I began my career in India, spent a few years in the U.K. after marriage, returned home for my first maternity break, and later restarted my career again before moving to Canada nearly nine years ago. Every move meant learning a new system, building a new network, and finding my footing all over again.
Here in Canada, I faced another kind of reset — being let go twice due to restructuring and financial changes, each time after years of giving my best. Those moments could have broken my confidence, but instead they clarified something: resilience isn’t about bouncing back to the same place; it’s about evolving into what’s next.
That mindset eventually led me to build Wonder EA, where I channel all those experiences into helping others navigate their own transitions with clarity and structure. And somewhere along the way, I also began writing children’s books — a passion project inspired by the stories and values I grew up with. What started as a way to pass on my heritage to my own kids became the Mystic India for Kids series, now reaching families around the world.
So yes, resilience for me has never been one big comeback — it’s been a lifetime of quiet restarts, each one shaping who I am and how I serve today.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Almost every client I’ve worked with has come through referrals — either from happy clients or from friends and peers who offer complementary fractional services to coaches, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. Those relationships have been the heartbeat of Wonder EA. I’ve always believed collaboration creates far more value than competition ever could.
Even my book, The Ease Equation, has opened unexpected doors. Readers who resonated with the message — that systems and support are the foundation of sustainable success — often reach out wanting to put those ideas into action within their own businesses.
I don’t believe in holding back what I know. Sharing my knowledge freely has always led to deeper trust and stronger partnerships — and often, that’s what turns a conversation into a collaboration.
If you’re a business owner looking for clarity and structure, or a service provider who supports entrepreneurs and sees alignment in what I do, I’d love to connect. Let’s explore how we can support each other’s growth — because when one business runs better, it uplifts the whole ecosystem around it.
