Hi Larry, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear a story from back when you were an intern or apprentice. What’s a memorable story you can share with us?
After finishing my degree at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, I had the opportunity to complete my internship at a five-star resort. Walking into that kitchen for the first time was both intimidating and inspiring — the precision, the pace, the standards of excellence were unlike anything I had experienced before.
I quickly learned that in fine dining, every detail matters — from how you hold your knife to how you communicate with your team. Long hours and high expectations taught me discipline, teamwork, and respect for the craft. But it was also where I discovered my passion for creating experiences — not just meals.
That internship opened the door to the world of luxury private dining, and it shaped the chef and leader I’ve become today. It showed me exactly what part of this industry I wanted to be a part of — the world where food, service, and hospitality come together to create unforgettable moments.

My culinary journey began at the age of 19, and by 25, I had proudly graduated from culinary school, eager to turn my passion into a lifelong craft. Over the years, I worked as an executive chef in a variety of corporate kitchens, where I gained invaluable experience managing teams, creating menus, and maintaining high culinary standards.
Three years ago, I took a leap of faith and launched Ferguson Culinary Concepts Private Chefs, based in Springfield, Missouri. Our company specializes in luxury private chef experiences for guests vacationing in Airbnb and VRBO properties across Lake of the Ozarks, Branson, and Fort Myers, Florida.
At Ferguson Culinary Concepts, we bring the fine-dining restaurant directly to our clients — complete with customized multi-course menus, professional service, and unforgettable presentation.
