We recently connected with Skylar Currie and have shared our conversation below.
Skylar, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Hey! I’m Skylar Currie, the creator behind @ServingLooksATL. My journey began with a simple passion — showcasing food, travel, and lifestyle experiences that feel real, relatable, and worth sharing. I was always that friend people came to for restaurant recommendations or new places to explore, and I noticed how often incredible experiences — in Atlanta and beyond — went unseen online. So, I decided to change that by creating content that truly captures the feeling of each moment — the flavor, the energy, and the story behind it.
When I started, much of influencer marketing felt overly polished and detached from real life. I wanted to do something different — to create scroll-stopping content that inspired people to actually go experience the world for themselves. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a community, and when one of my early videos went viral, I realized this authentic storytelling approach had impact.
With my MBA from Louisiana Tech University, a certification in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell, and experience in corporate leadership, I understood how to transform creativity into strategy. That’s how Serving Looks ATL evolved into a full digital brand — one that helps companies of all sizes connect with audiences through influencer content, UGC, and digital campaigns that drive real engagement.
Now with over 80 million views across platforms, I continue to share memorable moments from the best of food, travel, and lifestyle — from local gems to global experiences. Serving Looks ATL was built on one simple belief: marketing should make people feel something. Whether it’s a bite, a view, or a vibe — I’m here to make it unforgettable.

Skylar, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey there! I’m Skylar Currie — the creator, CEO, and driving force behind Serving Looks ATL, a digital marketing and influencer brand that brings food, travel, and lifestyle experiences to life through authentic, scroll-stopping storytelling.
I first got into this industry because I saw a disconnect between what brands were sharing and what audiences were actually responding to. So much content felt staged and impersonal, but I knew that real, organic storytelling — the kind that makes people feel something — was what truly built connection. What started as a personal passion for discovering new restaurants, hidden gems, and travel experiences has now grown into a multimedia brand that helps others tell their stories in creative, impactful ways.
Through Serving Looks ATL, I offer influencer marketing, UGC (user-generated content), and social media campaign services that amplify visibility and drive engagement. My signature Social Media Bundles include cross-platform content across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, Franki Locals, and NewsBreak — along with blog features, email blasts, press releases, and ad campaigns to give brands a full 360° digital presence.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge creativity with strategy. I hold an MBA from Louisiana Tech University, am certified in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University, and completed Chase for Business’s Coaching for Impact program. That business foundation — combined with a deep understanding of social trends and storytelling — allows me to help clients translate content into measurable results.
I’ve built an audience of engaged followers and generated over 80 million views across platforms, collaborating with both local businesses and global brands. My work has been recognized in Atlanta and beyond — including being named one of Atlanta’s Most Impactful Atlantans in the Social Innovator category for my community-driven approach to digital marketing.
What I’m most proud of is that Serving Looks ATL has remained rooted in authenticity. Every campaign, every collaboration, and every piece of content is designed to not just promote — but to inspire action, spark emotion, and make people stop scrolling.
For me, this work is about connection — helping brands and audiences meet in the middle through storytelling that feels human, memorable, and full of flavor. That’s what Serving Looks ATL is all about: serving content that looks good, feels real, and leaves a lasting impression — in Atlanta and beyond.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories goes back to a moment when I decided to bet entirely on myself and my creative instincts. A few years ago, I was invited to cover a local dining event — nothing huge, just a casual tasting meant to generate some buzz. The brand didn’t have a large marketing budget, and most creators treated it as a quick post-and-go opportunity. But something about it felt like a chance to prove what thoughtful storytelling could do, even without paid promotion.
Instead of just showing the food, I crafted a full experience: the ambience, the plating, the energy of the crowd, and how it all made me feel. I shot and edited everything myself, leaned into trending sounds, and posted it within 24 hours while the event was still fresh in people’s minds. I remember staying up late that night, double-checking captions and hashtags, hoping it would connect.
By morning, it exploded — tens of thousands of views , and eventually, one of my clips fully took off. That experience taught me that marketing isn’t about budget — it’s about emotion, timing, and authenticity. Taking that risk not only helped that small business thrive but also positioned Serving Looks ATL as a trusted partner for organic, results-driven campaigns.
It reminded me why I started this in the first place — to create content that not only looks good but works. The odds may have been small, but the belief in storytelling made all the difference.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was believing that everything had to be perfect before putting it out into the world.
Early in my journey with Serving Looks ATL, I used to overthink every post — the lighting, the transitions, the captions — all in pursuit of what I thought was “professional perfection.” I’d spend hours editing a single video or rewriting a caption just to make sure it matched what I imagined in my head. But what I noticed was that while I was stuck perfecting one piece of content, others were posting consistently and growing faster.
The turning point came when one of my most viral videos — a simple, food reel — hit over a million views. It wasn’t scripted or styled; it was just me sharing a real experience that resonated. That moment made me realize that connection beats perfection every time.
Now, I remind myself and my clients that audiences don’t fall in love with flawless — they fall in love with authentic. The more I leaned into real moments and let go of the pressure to polish everything, the more my brand — and my impact — grew.
Unlearning perfection taught me to trust the process, create freely, and understand that done and genuine will always outperform perfect and late.
