Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Violuna. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Violuna, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
You know, this is such a great question as I often wonder where I would be today if I had decided to seriously pursue music earlier. I didn’t learn how to DJ until 35 even though I’ve been in love with dance music for as long as I can remember. But truly, I believe everything happens in divine timing, and I actually have been in the music world pretty much my whole life.
I started playing violin when I was six years old. I begged my parents to let me play, and I’m so glad they said yes! I even went to undergraduate school for music with dreams of one day being a studio musician. But after I graduated, I didn’t have anyone to play with, and didn’t know how to produce music electronically, I honestly don’t even think it was something I could do at that time. So I actually walked away. I stopped playing for a few years and took a different route.
I became a doctor of chiropractic and built a healing practice, helping people reconnect with their bodies and emotions. That taught me how energy moves through people, how tension becomes story, and how sound can open something deeper. So when I finally stepped back into the world of music, it wasn’t a new beginning ~ it was a merging of everything I’d been preparing for.
If I had started sooner, I probably wouldn’t have had the same depth or purpose. I might’ve been chasing the dream instead of embodying it. So no, I don’t wish I’d started earlier or later. I started exactly when my soul was ready… and I think that’s the only kind of timing that really matters.

Violuna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Of course! I’m Violuna ~ an electric violinist, and DJ based in St. Pete.
As I mentioned earlier, I started playing young and then took a bit of a side quest ~ becoming a chiropractor and opening Soulistic, my nervous system based healing practice. The work I do in the office is a bit different ~ working with light touch and frequency. Through my practice, I have deepened my understanding of how energy and emotion move through the body, how rhythm regulates the nervous system, and how sound can open us to something more. I actually still work in the office too! It’s amazing being able to help people reconnect and feel in so many different ways.
Over time, I began to see how my two worlds were actually one. The same awareness that helps someone unwind tension on the table is the same energy I want to bring to the dance floor. When I finally stepped back into music, violuna became the bridge ~ the space where science and spirit, structure and flow, body and beat could all meet. It’s a felt sense ~ not something that needs to be explained or thought about, and I absolutely love that.
In my sets, I blend deep, melodic, organic, afro, and tech house with live electric violin to create immersive sound journeys that move both body and soul. My sets are designed to be felt… emotional, sensual, and expansive.
What sets me apart is that integration. I’m not just performing or playing songs ~ I’m guiding people into a state of embodied awareness through rhythm and resonance. Whether it’s a rooftop at sunset, in a bar, or an intimate sound experience, my intention is always the same ~ to help people feel more alive, more connected, more human.
I’m most proud of merging worlds that people don’t normally think of being able to coexist… the clinical and the creative… healing and the dance floor. Creating something that feels like home to me. violuna is the embodiment of everything I’ve lived, healed, and remembered along the way.
And now, I’ve started producing my own music as well ~ nothing’s out just yet, but keep an ear out if you’re drawn to sound that moves something inside you, not just your body.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission has always been to help people reconnect with themselves and to feel again.
So many of us are disconnected ~ from our bodies, our emotions, our rhythm. Whether I’m working hands on in my practice or behind the decks playing a set, my purpose is the same… to help people remember what it feels like to be fully alive in their bodies.
Through violuna, I do that with sound ~ creating experiences that awaken emotion, move energy, and bring people back into connection with themselves. It’s not about thinking or analyzing ~ it’s about that return to presence… to feeling and remembering.
At the heart of it all, my goal is to create spaces where people can soften, expand, and remember who they really are.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, it’s witnessing the small moments of connection that are the most rewarding. When I look out and see someone with their eyes closed, completely lost in the music, or when someone tells me after a set that they felt something move through them they didn’t even know was there… that’s what it’s all about. It’s not about perfection or performance, it’s about presence. Watching people drop out of their heads and back into their bodies, and knowing I got to play a small part in that experience, even if it only lasts for a moment, that’s the magic for me.
