We were lucky to catch up with Ace Gonzalez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ace, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
The idea for Ace Productions NYC came together from a mix of purpose, curiosity, and evolution. Before launching my agency, I worked in the nonprofit world managing and producing events and creative programs. I loved watching projects bring people together- seeing artists, community members, and partners light up when their work was seen and celebrated. That’s what first sparked my love for storytelling and production: the power of a well-executed idea to connect people and cultures.
After leaving that role, I initially thought I’d continue down a project management role. But I quickly realized that while I thrived on organization and execution, I needed my work to reflect my creativity. I’ve always had a deep love for fashion- I’ve been a sneaker collector since high school, and as a masculine- presenting woman, I’ve always used style as a form of expression. So I took a leap into fashion production, where I got to marge creativity with logistics.
Working with Fashion Week Brooklyn opened doors for me to learn the ins and outs of production, brand storytelling, and collaboration. I loved it, but I also realized that full-time production work could be incredibly demanding physically. I wanted ti stay connected to the creative energy of fashion and culture, but in a way that allowed me to strategize, build relationships, and tell stories- not just produce them. That’s when I discovered PR, brand management, and marketing.
Looking back, I realized I had already been doing many of these things- coordinating media, writing campaigns, designing promotional materials- without calling it “PR.” So I decided to go all in. With encouragement from mentors like Rick from Fashion Week Brooklyn, who told me I had both the vision and the execution skills to lead my own agency, I launched Ace Productions NYC.
The mission was simple: to help brands and creatives- from emerging voices to established companies- tell their stories with purpose and flair. I wanted to be the person people could call to help them bring a vision to life from start to finish, no matter the scale.
I’ve always known I could succeed in this space because I lead with empathy, detail, and intention. I listen closely to what clients want- not just what they say, but what they mean- and I care deeply about making the process collaborative, not transactional. Every project I take on is a reflection of that: care, creativity, and connection.
That’s really what Ace Productions was built on- the belief that when you blend heart with strategy, you don’t just build brands; you build movements.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Ace Gonzalez, a Brooklyn-based PR strategist and founder of Ace Productions NYC, a creative agency bridging culture through fashion, media, and storytelling. My path into this work started in the nonprofit world, managing and producing community-driven events. I fell in love with seeing creative projects bring people together — that spark when someone’s art or idea gets the spotlight it deserves.
Eventually, I realized I wanted to combine that same sense of impact with my lifelong love for fashion and culture. That’s how Ace Productions NYC came to life — as a home for brands, artists, and creatives looking to tell their stories in a bold, intentional way.
We specialize in PR, brand partnerships, media relations, and experiential marketing, helping clients build visibility and credibility through strategy, storytelling, and cultural connection. Whether it’s a designer preparing for Fashion Week or a small brand ready to grow its presence, I help transform vision into something tangible, relatable, and newsworthy.
What sets my work apart is how personal it is — I listen deeply, collaborate intentionally, and always lead with care and creativity. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the trust clients place in me to bring their stories to life. At the heart of it, Ace Productions isn’t just about building brands — it’s about amplifying voices and bridging worlds through authentic storytelling.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments for me came after leaving my nonprofit job, when I was unsure of what direction to take next. I was juggling side projects, trying to carve a space for myself in fashion and media without a clear roadmap. It was uncomfortable — but it forced me to get creative. I leaned into every opportunity to learn, collaborate, and build relationships that would later become the foundation of Ace Productions NYC.
Resilience, for me, wasn’t about pretending everything was fine — it was about adapting, showing up anyway, and trusting that the small, consistent steps would compound into something bigger. Every setback became redirection. And now, looking back, those moments of uncertainty were actually the most powerful turning points in my career.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience by leading with authenticity and consistency rather than chasing trends. In the beginning, I didn’t have a perfect strategy — I just focused on showing my process and sharing what I genuinely cared about: creative collaboration, cultural storytelling, and behind-the-scenes moments that often go unseen. Over time, that transparency attracted the right people — clients, creatives, and collaborators who aligned with my vision.
My biggest advice is to show up like a human, not a brand. Share your growth, not just your wins. People don’t connect to perfection; they connect to honesty, purpose, and energy. Stay consistent, stay curious, and remember — your digital presence should reflect the world you’re building, not just the work you’re selling.
