RICHARD, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
A project is meaningful if it absorbs you completely. A project doesn’t necessarily need to be about making money although it could help if it gives you satisfaction doing it. A project is an experience that makes you happy because of new discovery and personal growth. Long ago I started a new website for my business but knew nothing about website development. I found out that learning a new computer language was complex and required many hours of continuous dedication. Instead, I decided to concentrate on the idea and concept of what I wanted to offer. Being an artist it’s easier to focus on the message, aesthetics and the appearance of the website content. There were many challenges trying to reach my goal and in my case some ideas could not be implemented because the technology was not available or was cost prohibited. Reinventing and implementing new ideas was necessary. Once you start seeing results it’s hard to give up. Similar to going to the gym and seeing your physic transform and take a new shape.
RICHARD, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Long ago, while sleeping at home in Tesuque, New Mexico, I had a surprise visitation from an alien being at 3:30AM in my bedroom. It was terrifying to suddenly wake up to a creature in a white spacesuit. The sleep paralysis rendered me frozen in fear unable to move or scream. The visitor didn’t stay long perhaps fearing I would suffer a heart attack. No mental telepathy or abduction occurred that night. This incident paved my fate as it became etched in my brain. PLANETXV was the idea conceived from this frightening experience. Vivid dreams followed this encounter streaming messages that answered many questions. The original plan for PLANETXV was to create a platform where like minded people worldwide could interact and find one another. Video technology to communicate in real time was in its infancy back in the nineties. The original plan had to be reshaped and remodeled with a feasible idea. While contemplating what to do next, I had the fortune to attract new friends who have had “outer limits” experiences. Some were abducted or implanted with tiny devices and others claimed they were from another Galaxy. Not all believable, but still very interesting. Another abducted couple gifted me with three very special books that explained life in other star systems and their agenda on Earth. I was mysteriously being guided into meeting like minded people who reinforced my intuition of being on the right path.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial capital wasn’t very much but it got me started by doing flyers and putting together a website so I could tell others I had a product to offer. The most tedious part was finding a web developer that was creative and understood what I wanted. It was an arduous learning process with lots of miscommunication and disappointments along the way. The Planetxv technical equipment needed for the desert tour such as special cameras, lasers, night vision goggles and an off-road vehicle I had to finance and it wasn’t cheap.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
No matter how much you plan ahead life’s journey will take you thru unpredictable pathways. Keep those friends that advance your progress in life and enjoy every moment even if it seems painful at times. Being yourself’s best friend and at peace is the recipe for happiness. Take risks in life – they are necessary to create nice memories and few regrets. A lesson I had to unlearn was that going thru college guarantees you will land a good job and make you happy. The only thing that makes you happy is the sense of fulfillment when living in the moment with full intent.
