We were lucky to catch up with Sissy Andrews recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sissy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I want to take a moment to honor two of the most important people in my life—my parents. They didn’t just raise me; they shaped me. They gave me something priceless: the spirit of an entrepreneur. I am 3rd generation entrepreneur.
From an early age, I watched them work tirelessly. Their work ethic was unmatched. No matter the challenge, they never gave up. They showed me that success isn’t handed to you—it’s earned through grit, perseverance, and faith.
They taught me to work hard during the week and go to church on Sunday. That rhythm became the heartbeat of my life. It reminded me that while ambition drives us, faith grounds us. And above all, they taught me to put family first. Because no matter how high you climb, it’s the people beside you who matter most.
So, when I chase my dreams, when I take risks, when I build something from nothing—I carry their lessons with me. Their spirit lives in every decision I make, every challenge I face, and every victory I celebrate.
Mom, Dad—thank you. You were my foundation, my inspiration, and my greatest blessing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
t’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since I first joined the Chamber. Back then, I was a board member, balancing my role with the demands of running my real estate company, Andrews and Associates LLC. It was a busy time—but it was also the beginning of something truly special.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to countless events, initiatives, and community efforts. Each one has left its mark, but if I had to choose a favorite, the Diamonds and Ice Charity Ball stands out. That event wasn’t just elegant—it was meaningful. It brought people together, raised funds for a great cause, and reminded us of the power of community.
For the past three years, I’ve served as Executive Director. It’s been an honor to lead, to collaborate, and to help shape the future of the Chamber. I’ve seen firsthand how much we can accomplish when we work together—with heart, with purpose, and with a shared vision.
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey. Here’s to the next chapter—and to continuing the work that makes our community shine.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
It’s truly remarkable to reflect on how far we’ve come. The Chamber has proudly served this community for over 50 years, standing as a pillar of support, connection, and progress. Since the founding of the City of D’Iberville in 1988, we’ve witnessed incredible growth—growth that speaks to the resilience, vision, and spirit of our people.
From the opening of the Scarlet Pearl Casino to the development of the Promenade Shopping Center, our city has transformed into a vibrant destination. And let’s not forget our seafood industry—deeply rooted in tradition, yet thriving in today’s economy. These milestones aren’t just signs of progress; they’re proof that D’Iberville is fast becoming the place to visit, to invest in, and to call home.
As we look ahead, I’m filled with pride and excitement. Because the best part of our story? It’s still being written—by all of us, together.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
One of the most effective ways to grow our Chamber is simple—but powerful: personal connection. Visiting business owners at their place of work, listening to their needs, and showing them how the Chamber can support their goals—that’s where real relationships begin.
It’s not just about membership numbers. It’s about building trust, offering value, and being present. That’s why we prioritize planning meaningful events—especially networking opportunities that bring our community together. And we don’t stop there. We stay involved. We show up. We support our local businesses not just in words, but in action.
Because when the Chamber is visible, accessible, and engaged, our entire business community thrives.
