We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ofir Barashy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ofir below.
Ofir, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Please tell us about starting your own firm and if you’d do anything different knowing what you know now.
From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to build my own company. That was always the end goal, even before I stepped into commercial real estate. What I also knew, however, was that I didn’t yet have the knowledge or experience to do it on day one. In our industry, you can’t even become your own broker until you’ve put in at least two years, and beyond that, you need the wisdom that only comes from time in the field.
With that in mind, I made a strategic choice: rather than joining a large firm with established teams and the potential for early commissions, I joined a smaller firm that was renowned for its training program. I essentially traded short-term earnings for long-term capability. For an entire year, I focused on learning, absorbing, and sharpening my skills—while making countless cold calls every single day. It was relentless, but it laid the foundation for everything I do now.
Once I had momentum, I transitioned into a smaller commercial brokerage that gave me the autonomy I needed to build something of my own. That leap was both exciting and daunting, but it gave me the freedom to grow, refine my vision, and eventually establish my firm on solid ground.
If I could give advice to a young professional today, I’d say this: be intentional about your path. Don’t rush into starting a firm without first putting in the work to understand the business from the inside out. Ask the difficult questions, study the market, and invest in your own development. The better prepared you are, the sooner you’ll find stability—and the more sustainable your success will be.

Ofir, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Ofir Barashy, founder of The Barashy Group, a commercial real estate advisory firm based in Las Vegas. My journey into this industry wasn’t just about pursuing a career – it was about building something of my own that combined both the analytical and creative sides of who I am. I’ve always been fascinated by how real estate shapes communities, and I wanted to be part of that process in a hands-on, entrepreneurial way.
At The Barashy Group, we specialize in a full spectrum of commercial real estate services – broker opinions of value, rental analyses, sales, leasing, and advisory. Our clients range from individual property owners to investors and organizations looking to grow strategically. In a market like Las Vegas, where opportunities are vast but competition is fierce, our role is to help clients navigate complex decisions with clarity and confidence. We don’t just transact deals – we provide insights that unlock value and create long-term success.
What sets us apart is twofold. First, our approach is highly personalized. We don’t push one-size-fits-all strategies; we take the time to understand the unique goals of each client and tailor solutions that align with those objectives. Second, we leverage a powerful combination of technology and creativity. From advanced market analytics to high-quality marketing campaigns, we use every tool available to position our clients’ properties for maximum visibility and value.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building a company that clients can genuinely trust. Real estate is often one of the biggest financial decisions people make, and being the advisor they rely on is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I’m also proud of the team we’re growing – people who share the same drive, integrity, and commitment to excellence that I do.
If there’s one thing I’d want potential clients to know, it’s this: our work is about more than closing a transaction. It’s about helping property owners realize the full potential of their assets, guiding investors toward smart opportunities, and ultimately contributing to the growth and character of our city. That’s what drives me every day, and it’s what The Barashy Group stands for.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation has been built on a very simple foundation: honesty, truth, and transparency. In commercial real estate, deals can be complex, and it’s easy to get lost in the numbers or chase quick wins. From day one, I made it a priority to take the opposite approach. I tell clients what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear – even if it means walking away from a deal or slowing down the process.
That consistency has created trust. Clients know that when they work with me, they’re getting the full picture, not just the highlight reel. Over time, that reputation spreads – word of mouth, referrals, and repeat business all come from people appreciating that they weren’t just “sold” something, but genuinely advised.
What I’ve learned is that credibility isn’t built on being the smartest or the flashiest; it’s built on doing the right thing over and over again. That’s what I’ve focused on, and it’s what I think has set me apart in the Las Vegas market.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been cold calling. It’s not flashy, and it’s definitely not easy, but it’s effective. I’ve always believed in sticking to the fundamentals, and in commercial real estate, picking up the phone and having real conversations is one of the most powerful tools you can use.
Cold calling works because it creates opportunities that don’t exist yet. It’s proactive rather than reactive – you’re not waiting for deals to come to you, you’re going out and finding them. That requires consistency, resilience, and a thick skin, but over time it builds both momentum and relationships.
It may sound old-school, but I’ve found that the basics never go out of style. Hard work, persistence, and a genuine approach to connecting with people – that’s what continues to drive new business for me.
