Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kori Joseph. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kori , appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first time I truly knew I wanted to pursue an artistic path professionally came in an unexpected but powerful moment. I was in my home studio, just vibing with some beats, when I got a call from my brother Jason. At the time, I was working at Intel, doing well for myself career-wise, and music had only been a passionate hobby—something therapeutic that allowed me to express my emotions and life stories.
On the phone, Jason said something that hit me harder than I expected: “You seem so joyful in the studio more than anywhere else. Let me really ask you—what truly makes you the happiest in this world?”
Normally, I always have an answer ready. But this time, I froze. His question forced me to really dig through my accomplishments, my career, and my experiences. And nothing stacked up. When I thought about the joy music gave me—the kind of joy where I’d lose track of time and just start smiling without even realizing it—I knew deep down this was the answer. Music wasn’t just a hobby, it was the purest happiness I’d ever felt.
Growing up, I’d been around plenty of artists and even got featured on a few tracks, but I was always in the passenger seat, never really thinking about royalties, careers, or recognition. It was just passion. But in that moment, something shifted—I didn’t want to sit in the passenger seat anymore. I wanted to grab the wheel, hit the gas, and not look back.
So I challenged myself: in June 2025, I created a song a day for the entire month. To my surprise, some of the very artists I looked up to noticed and even reached out with praise. That was the confirmation I needed. From that point on, I knew this wasn’t just something I loved—it was something I was meant to do professionally.

Kori , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m an artist who blends storytelling, emotion, and faith into music that resonates beyond just sound. I started out focused on taking care of my family and building stability through the workforce, more than pursuing my passion. Music was always there for me, but at first it was just a therapeutic outlet—a way to process life, release emotions, and most importantly, express my love for God. Over time, I realized nothing else gave me the same level of joy and purpose, and that’s when it shifted from a hobby into my calling.
Today, I create music that isn’t just about rhythm or flow—it’s about connection and ministry through art. My songs weave together real-life struggles, resilience, and faith, offering listeners something they can not only vibe with but also be uplifted by. I see my work as more than entertainment—it’s therapy through sound, encouragement through lyricism, and a creative way to spread the message of God’s love and strength.
What sets me apart is my fusion of influences and disciplines. I’ve been around artists my whole life, but I’ve also lived the reality of prioritizing responsibility and sacrifice before stepping into my true passion. That balance gave me a unique perspective. I’ve built my sound and brand to stand in its own lane: blending hip hop with anime-inspired visuals, origami symbolism, and messages deeply rooted in spirituality. It’s not just about making tracks—it’s about creating a whole world where people can feel God’s presence through art.
I’m most proud of staying authentic and unashamed of my faith. For example, when I challenged myself to create a new song every day for a month, it wasn’t just about consistency—it was about proving to myself that with God’s strength and guidance, I could step fully into my purpose. Seeing some of the very artists I admired notice my work was confirmation, but ultimately, it’s the impact on people’s hearts that matters most.
What I want people to know about my work is simple: I create from a place of truth, faith, and vision. Whether it’s music, visuals, or performances, my goal is to inspire people to push past limitations, embrace their story, and draw closer to God in the process. My brand isn’t just about me—it’s about showing others that they, too, can turn their passions into purpose when they walk in faith.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the freedom of expression—the ability to pour out everything in my heart without limits, without someone telling me what I can or can’t do. Music gives me the space to be completely honest and transparent. The real reward, though, is seeing how those expressions connect with others. When someone resonates with my words or feels encouraged by what I release from my spirit through music, that’s when I know I’m walking in my purpose.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to create music that enriches the soul and uplifts the listener. I want to inspire people to do good, dive deeper into their faith, and experience joy and encouragement through art. There’s so much music today that glorifies toxicity, but I believe you can make tracks that bump, feel powerful, and still carry a positive, uplifting message. My goal isn’t to prove anything—it’s to provide. Music can be both enjoyable and meaningful without glorifying the destructive sides of humanity.
