We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffani Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffani, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to strengthen families at their core because I believe that stronger families build stronger communities. This deeply personal calling is lived out through Kingdom Family Ministry (KFM).
My husband and I founded KFM after walking through our own season of brokenness and restoration. We experienced firsthand how isolation, social strains, and generational patterns can tear a family apart. At the same time, we also saw the power of intentional support, counseling, community, and practical help, to heal and bring hope.
That’s why this work is so meaningful. Every “Families First” program we offer, whether it’s nine free sessions of marriage counseling, a Care Crate of essentials, grocery gift cards, or help with a utility bill, is rooted in our conviction that families in crisis deserve both dignity and a pathway to stability.
The mission matters because it isn’t abstract. It’s about real people: a couple on the verge of divorce who find new tools to reconcile, a parent who can keep the lights on for their children, a family who can sit down to a meal without the shadow of lack. For us, Kingdom Family Ministry is not just an organization. It’s a reflection of our story and our faith, and a way to multiply hope in our community.

Tiffani, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tiffani M. Davis, and together with my husband, Wil, I co-founded Kingdom Family Ministry (KFM). As a licensed and ordained minister, a sociology professor with expertise in social patterns and influence, and a two-time Amazon Best-Selling Author, I am committed to sharing my story whenever it can bring hope, encouragement, and healing to others. But my greatest lessons didn’t come from books or classrooms, they came from my own marriage and family journey.
Several years ago, Wil and I walked through a season that nearly broke us. We were facing the weight of painful marital challenges that tested the very foundation of our relationship, and we separated and filed for divorce. With faith, counseling, and intentional effort, we found healing. That experience gave us a clear conviction: families in crisis need both spiritual encouragement and tangible support to move forward. Out of that conviction, KFM was born.
At Kingdom Family Ministry, we focus on what we call Families First Programs:
1. Free marriage and premarital counseling through our network of licensed providers.
2. Care Crates filled with household and personal essentials for families starting over.
3. Grocery-only gift cards so parents can put food on the table with dignity.
4.Utility assistance that helps families keep their homes stable.
The problems we solve are often urgent but deeply human: a couple on the verge of separation, a parent wondering how to keep the lights on, or a family unsure where their next meal will come from. What sets us apart is that we don’t just offer a handout; we offer a pathway forward. Every service is designed to strengthen the family unit so that healing isn’t temporary but lasting.
I’m most proud of the real stories of change: couples who not only stayed together but found joy again, families who felt seen and supported, and children who went to bed in a lit home with a full stomach because someone cared enough to step in. Those are the moments that remind me why this work matters.
What I want people to know about Kingdom Family Ministry is this: we are more than a nonprofit. We are a reflection of faith in action, a testimony that broken things can be rebuilt, and a community effort to make families stronger. Because when families are healthy, communities thrive.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When we started KFM, my heart was overflowing with vision. I knew the need was real, and I knew our story could help families. However, I quickly learned that vision has to be paired with structure, systems, and strategy if you want to grow and sustain impact.
The backstory is simple: in the beginning, I thought if we just shared the mission, people would automatically rally behind it. Instead, I learned that running a nonprofit also means being a fundraiser, a marketer, a network-builder, and a steward of every dollar. I had to unlearn the idea that ministry and business are separate. In reality, the business side is what allows the ministry side to function.
That shift has made KFM stronger. Today, we still lead with heart and story, but we also operate with clear processes, accountability, and partnerships that make our work sustainable. It was a humbling but necessary lesson, one that’s helped me grow not just as a founder, but as a leader.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
When we launched Kingdom Family Ministry, there wasn’t a large pool of capital or investors backing us. We started with our own family’s sacrifice, our time, our resources, and even our children pitching in to help pack crates and serve families. From there, friends, family, and a few generous individuals came alongside us because they believed in the vision.
To keep the ministry moving forward, we’ve had to get creative. One of the biggest steps was creating Fairway for Families, our Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This October will be our second year hosting it at Northgate Country Club, and we’re grateful to have HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest as our title sponsor. But honestly, it’s not just the sponsors—it’s also the people who buy a ticket, play a round, or give quietly behind the scenes who make it possible for us to serve families in need.
We’re still a small nonprofit without a big budget, but every act of generosity—large or small—builds the foundation for impact. Our funding story isn’t about having everything we need up front; it’s about building together, step by step, with a community that cares. We invite others to join us, because every gift really does make a difference.
