Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noy Marom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Noy, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I’ve had many meaningful projects that I took part in throughout my career, but a recent one that I am very proud of is my role as princess Katherine in the production of Henry V at ATA.
It was the first Shakespeare production I’ve done in a long time and many parts of the text were in French, which made it even more challenging. It was a beautiful experience though, with a wonderful cast and it was performed on the wonderful stage of the Off-Broadway Cullum theater in NYC.

Noy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I loved acting from a very young and I always used to put on shows for my family and friends. In junior high, I started doing acting in school and really started taking classes and fell in love with it even more. After school, after traveling for a couple of years, I took a class in my early twenties and realized that this is, in fact what I wanted to do with my life. I took some more theatre and on camera classes for a while and then decided to follow my dream and move to New York City. In New York, I really felt like I have found my artistic voice. I trained in different studios such as the Barrow Group and Grace Kiley Acting and then attended the Eve Con at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting. It was an amazing experience that really helped me find my true self and incredibly enriched my artistic journey. Later, I found an artistic outlet through a theater ensemble that I created with a group of collaborators and artists. We produced and performed in theaters all around the city and it was a wonderful learning experience. Also, after school, I got into my auditioning journey and started taking part in countless different projects- from theater productions to commercial and film work. I am very proud of many aspects of my journey but I guess one of the main things that I am most proud of is working hard and establishing myself in such a challenging, but incredible city as New York and finding so much inspiration working in a field that I truly love.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I guess the biggest lesson that I had to unlearn is that there isn’t just one path or one journey to being creative and having an artistic life. When I started out I always viewed an actor/ creative as someone that had to rely on other people’s vision for work and I have been very privileged to have worked with a variety of many wonderful creatives in many wonderful productions, but I also found the magic and the super- power of sparking conversation about important subjects that speak to me and that I believe are significant socially and producing my on work, to tell important stories that I believe in. I just think it’s a wonderful tool to stay creative in between projects and to truly find your voice as an artist- finding your circle and having a lot of creative control over what you bring to the stage.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The main creative goal for me is to just keep doing what I love and have as many opportunities to tell important touching stories that individuals can see a reflection of themselves in and as a result feel seen and understood. It’s truly as simple as that. I feel that storytelling is such an important tool to connect people and help them understand their truths in relation the society. As a kid, I remember art really shaping my views on the world, especially since I originally came from a small town and through that I could dream about all the different ways that life could be and what it has to offer.
