We recently connected with Sylwia Pogorzelska and have shared our conversation below.
Sylwia , appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
About two years ago, I noticed a pattern: midlife women were being overlooked, not just in fitness, but in how society values strength, vitality, and self-confidence after 40. That became my defining moment. I wasn’t just building a fitness brand; I was answering a call to empower women to reclaim their energy, confidence, and sense of self, while still welcoming clients of all ages into a supportive and thriving community. That insight shaped everything I do today, teaching me the importance of listening deeply, understanding what people truly need, and building programs that foster real transformation, mentally, physically, and emotionally

Sylwia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Sylwia Pogorzelska, also known as „Miss Trainer”, originally from northern Poland, now living in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. My career journey has been anything but linear, I’ve worked in hospitality in Edinburgh, sailed aboard the Queen Mary 2 with Cunard, and eventually found my passion in fitness, qualifying as a gym instructor in 2015 and as a personal trainer in 2017. Along the way, I’ve learned that it’s never too late to pivot, to pursue what excites you, or to transform your life.
Through Miss Trainer, I work with clients of all ages, from young adults just beginning their fitness journey, to older adults seeking strength, mobility, and long-term health. I provide strength training, online coaching, and community support, helping clients build confidence, resilience, and sustainable health habits. While I work with a diverse range of clients, I noticed a significant gap in the market for midlife women who need guidance for strength, bone health, and longevity. By focusing on this group, I’m helping women combat common health risks such as osteoporosis, a condition that affects approximately one in three women over 50 and contributes to serious fractures later in life. Strength training is not just about fitness, it’s about empowering women to live longer, healthier, and more independent lives.
What sets me apart is my people-first approach. I don’t just deliver workouts; I listen, I adapt, and I support each client holistically. My greatest pride comes from the community of women and men I’ve built, clients who lift each other up, celebrate wins, and inspire one another to keep going. Through online coaching and flexible programs, I aim to make fitness accessible to even more people, offering a safe, supportive, and motivating environment no matter where they live or what stage of life they’re in.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation has been built on empathy, consistency, and authenticity. I take the time to listen deeply to my clients’ needs, challenges, and goals, creating individualized plans that actually work. In a crowded market of online fitness programs aimed at younger audiences, I carved a niche by supporting midlife women and older adults who often feel overlooked, while still serving clients of all ages. By prioritizing relationships over shortcuts, offering reliable guidance, and creating a genuine, supportive environment, I’ve built trust and visibility that extend far beyond just results in the gym.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most powerful skill is people skills: empathy, deep listening, and adaptability. Understanding where my clients are mentally, emotionally, and physically allows me to craft experiences that are meaningful, sustainable, and empowering. This human connection builds trust, keeps clients accountable, and creates long-term loyalty. It’s one thing to provide knowledge; it’s another to truly meet someone where they are, guide them, and empower them to take ownership of their journey. In today’s fitness landscape, connection is rare, and that’s what sets Miss Trainer apart.
