We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Simpson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicole thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Yes, there was a defining moment that completely shifted the trajectory of my career. For many years, my background was rooted in behavioral science and understanding why people think and act the way they do. I enjoyed the work, but I always felt like something was missing when it came to truly helping people transform their lives.
The turning point came when I was introduced to holistic healing. For the first time, I saw how mind, body, and spirit could be addressed together—not just symptoms or behaviors in isolation. I realized that real, sustainable change happens when you give people the tools to heal from the inside out. That moment reframed how I saw my career. Instead of working only on the “behavioral” side, I wanted to create a space where people could experience integrative healing: biofeedback, IV therapy, holistic medicine, and mindset work under one roof.
That insight led me to open my own wellness center. It was a big leap, but it felt aligned with my purpose. The lesson I learned was that sometimes the thing that changes your trajectory isn’t a promotion or a title—it’s a shift in perspective. When you realize your skills can be applied in a way that impacts people more deeply, you can’t go back. For me, holistic healing was that moment, and it’s shaped everything I’ve built since.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My professional journey began as a teenager, when I first discovered my entrepreneurial spirit by selling candles. From there, I moved into marketing, which sparked my curiosity about how people think, make decisions, and create lasting change. That curiosity led me to study behavior and mindset in depth, opening the door to a career rooted in research, mindset reframing, and behavioral development.
Over the years, I’ve owned gyms, wellness studios, and even restaurants focused on healthy, allergy-friendly menus—all with the mission of helping people live better lives. Each chapter built on the last, but the common thread has always been empowerment through health, mindset, and lifestyle.
That journey ultimately brought me to holistic wellness, where I’ve combined everything I’ve learned into a comprehensive approach to care. At Centered, we provide medical-grade wellness services such as IV therapy, vitamin infusions, peptides, red light therapy, and halo (salt) therapy. We also have a spa side dedicated to self-care and stress relief, with head spa treatments, facials, massage, and aesthetics.
What sets us apart is our integrative philosophy. We don’t just treat the body or the mind in isolation—we bring them together. Our clients not only look and feel better, but they also leave with a renewed sense of balance, confidence, and clarity.
I am most proud of creating spaces where people can heal, recharge, and thrive. From teenagers to busy parents to high-performing professionals, our clients come to us not just for services, but for transformation.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose the same path—but I’d choose it with even more confidence. My journey has had many chapters, from being an entrepreneur as a teen, to working in marketing, to diving deep into behavioral science, and now building a holistic wellness center. Each step shaped me and gave me skills that I use every single day in what I do now.
There were times along the way when I questioned whether I was on the right path, but looking back, I can see how every experience prepared me for this. The marketing taught me how to connect with people, the behavioral research gave me insight into human change, and the businesses I owned gave me resilience and vision.
So yes, I would choose the same profession, because I know it’s my calling. The only thing I might change is that I would have leaned into holistic wellness sooner. But I believe the timing was perfect—it allowed me to bring all those experiences together into something truly unique.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the idea that success only comes from constant hustle and pushing harder. Early in my career, as a teen entrepreneur and later while running gyms, studios, and restaurants, I believed that working longer hours and sacrificing my own well-being was the price of achievement. I thought rest and self-care were luxuries I couldn’t afford if I wanted to grow.
The backstory is that eventually, my health and mindset suffered. I was burned out, and while my businesses were helping others live better, I wasn’t applying the same principles to myself. That disconnect made me realize something had to change.
When I discovered holistic wellness, I learned to unlearn that old belief. I saw firsthand that balance, recovery, and alignment are not only healthy, but they’re actually what sustain long-term success. Today, I build that philosophy into my work at Centered. We show people that taking care of themselves—through IV therapy, peptides, self-care treatments, or even just giving themselves permission to rest—isn’t indulgence, it’s essential.
The wisdom I took from unlearning that lesson is simple: success doesn’t come from burnout, it comes from being aligned, healthy, and whole.
