We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Larissa Rivoli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Larissa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Honestly, for me beauty has never just been about what you see on the outside. I got into hair because I loved helping women feel beautiful and confident but over time I realized it was so much deeper than that.
The turning point for me was actually in my own journey. When I started to find confidence in myself, that’s when the passion really became alive. It wasn’t just about doing great hair anymore- this bigger dream started to wake up inside me, a dream for every woman to feel that same confidence in her own skin.
That’s why behind the chair Its so much more than just hair. I create timeless, lived in looks, yes, but I also use that time to speak life into my clients. I really try to listen for Gods heart towards them, to encourage them, remind them of their worth, and help them see themselves the way He sees them. It’s a privilege to be trusted in that space, because its not just about transforming the outside- its touching the inside too.
At the end of the day, that’s what it is all about for me- helping woman carry themselves with confidence, inside and out.

Larissa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been doing hair for 19 years, and honestly, I’ve loved it my whole life. Growing up it was barbies, dolls, and friends- so choosing this career was a no brainer. From day one, I’ve been passionate about the one person in my chair each time- really listening, understanding their lifestyle, and creating something personal just for them. My work isn’t just about hair; it’s about speaking into their heart and helping them feel confident and seen in a way that is uniquely theirs.
Building a career in the beauty industry requires discipline. It’s not just showing up behind the chair- It is sharpening your craft, continuing your education, staying inspired and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Consistency, attention to detail and commitment to growth are what allow me to provide excellent service and ensure every client leaves feeling valued and confident.
A huge part of my heart is being a champion of women. That is in my chair but also in the industry. This industry is powerful because it allows us to celebrate each other, collaborate and choose connection over competition. I truly believe there is room for every woman to thrive and supporting others is just as rewarding as pursuing my own career.
I am also a wife and mom, so balance is incredibly important to me. I love this industry and I’m passionate about business but I’ve learned and am continuing to learn how to build it in a way that keeps my family at the center. For me, true success means creating both growth and balance.
In my craft I specialize in lived in color and extensions. But more than services, what I offer is an experience- where woman feel seen, valued and confident, both inside and out.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story that really shows my resilience is about a major turning point in my career. I had spent over a decade building a successful career and a loyal clientele in Washington State then God asked my family to move across the country. It meant leaving everything I had worked for behind and stepping into the unknown.
Moving to a brand new city I had to dig deep into who I truly am in this industry. I had to remain confident in my skills, brave in a place much larger than the small town I came from and trust God would help me build again when I knew no one. It wasn’t easy but leaning into courage, persistence and faith allowed me to start fresh and rebuild my career.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is comparison. It’s so deeply woven into culture and it’s especially thick in the beauty industry. Growing up I was a very insecure little girl and those feelings carried into my teenage years and into my 20’s.
As I began building my own clientele and shaping my career I realized that in order to truly thrive and honor my own vision I had to rewire myself. I couldn’t let comparison steal my confidence or dictate my path. I started intentionally digging into who God created me to be, speaking positive affirmations over myself, celebrating and blessing other women and creating daily practices that helped me stand strong and confident in who I am. That work has allowed me to focus fully on my own dreams and the unique vision I have for my career and it has been transformative.
