Julia, appreciate you joining us today. Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?
I’ve been in the logistics business for over three years now, and one thing I’ve learned is that innovation doesn’t always mean flashy technology, and sometimes it’s simply finding new ways to earn trust. From the start, I’ve had to think outside the box to gain business, and I’ve built a proven track record by showing up with dedication and perseverance.
For me, innovation has looked like turning challenges into opportunities. Whether it’s finding creative solutions when others say “no,” or stepping in to make sure a client’s needs are met without delay. Those small, consistent efforts are what set me apart and keep customers coming back, because they know I’ll always find a way.

Julia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Julia Castillo, and I’ve been in logistics for over three years. I found my passion in this industry because it’s all about problem-solving and helping people — every client brings a unique challenge, and I love being the one they can count on to get it done.
Back in 2018, our founder, Taylor Tefft, and I were both working in a call center. She shared her vision for the business, and I joked that I’d join her in a few years while I focused on my corporate path. Fast forward a few years, I took the leap, and it’s been an incredible journey. Taylor’s leadership and my dedication have built a company where thinking outside the box and putting clients first is the standard.
I specialize in arranging nationwide shipping and transport, including mobile surveillance trailers, specialty units, and disaster relief equipment. What sets me apart is that I don’t wait for the “perfect backhaul” if a client needs a shipment moved, I make it happen. I’m proud of the trust I’ve built and the long-term partnerships that come from showing up consistently and going the extra mile.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been relationships, referrals, and LinkedIn. Building trust with one client often leads to referrals, and LinkedIn has been a great platform to connect with new prospects while also introducing them to our team. I like to involve the team from the start so that everyone grows together and clients feel supported by more than just me. Staying proactive and showing that we’re not just a broker, but a partner who genuinely cares, has been key to bringing in new business.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what’s helped me build my reputation is **consistency, reliability, and going the extra mile**. I make it a point to meet clients directly, by visiting their sites, attending industry conferences, and building face-to-face trust and rapport. Coupled with thinking outside the box to solve unique challenges and showing genuine care for their business, these efforts have really helped me stand out in the market!
