Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Valarie Lynn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Valarie, thanks for joining us today. Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.
The most innovative thing I’ve done in my career is creating LeLá, my new sapphic show and club experience premiering in Los Angeles on September 18th. As an event producer, I’ve produced countless parties for queer women—nightlife events, brunches, day parties—in both Los Angeles and London. But LeLá is different. It’s the first time I’ve been able to combine my two biggest passions: my love for dance and my love for creating spaces that bring queer women together.
There’s nothing else quite like it. LeLá is designed to be more than just a party—it’s a full experience. Guests will be immersed in a live show featuring an all-women cast: dancers of both feminine and masculine energy, an acrobatic pole dancer, a fire dancer, and even a special guest queer R&B singer. On top of that, the night features a lineup of all-queer women DJs, all set inside an upscale venue, The Dragonfly in Hollywood.
What makes this innovative for me is that it’s not just about entertainment—it’s about representation and creating something unique that speaks directly to queer women. I took a chance on blending performance, nightlife, and community into one experience, and LeLá is the result. It’s bold, celebratory, and unapologetically ours. It’s a Love Letter to Queer Women.

Valarie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Valarie Lynn, the founder and creator of multiple queer events, Grlz Only UK, L.N.O (Ladies Night Out) in Los Angeles, and my newest and proudest venture, LeLá: a sapphic show and upscale club experience premiering in Hollywood.
I’ve been working as a freelance event producer for years, but about four years ago I realized I was constantly searching for more queer events to go to—and coming up short. So I decided to take the experience I already had and, as a queer woman myself, start creating my own. What started as Grlz Only in LA with a group of girls grew into my solo venture of curating Grlz Only UK events in London, shortly after I created L.N.O in LA, and now LeLá my newest baby. Each step has been about creating the spaces I always wished existed for us.
My events are special because they’re more than just parties—they’re safe spaces. I curate every detail to make sure people know this is a place where hate, bullying, or negativity won’t be tolerated. These nights are about community coming together, feeling free to be ourselves, and letting loose without the fear of men bothering us. There truly aren’t enough spaces for queer women, and I’ll continue building more. My hope is that one day, with the work I do and the work of other WLW event producers, there will never be a night of the week where we can’t find a safe, fun space for us to celebrate.
LeLá is especially close to my heart because it combines my two biggest passions: dance and bringing queer women together. At The Dragonfly in Hollywood September 18th, guests will be immersed in a full show featuring an all-women cast—dancers of both feminine and masculine energy, an acrobatic pole performer, a fire dancer, a guest queer R&B singer, and an all-queer women DJ lineup. It’s not just an event, it’s an experience, and one that’s truly for us.
The journey hasn’t been easy. I had to learn early on that if I wanted to create the spaces I envisioned, I needed to believe in myself and branch off on my own. Owning my businesses without partners allows me to stay true to my vision, but it also means carrying a heavy workload—sometimes across multiple cities and even countries. I’ve learned the importance of building a team I can count on, and I’ve been lucky to find amazing people who support me and help make all of this possible.
At the end of the day, my passion and vision for our community are bigger than I could have ever imagined, and I’m excited to keep growing, creating, and curating unforgettable experiences for queer women everywhere.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal with every event I curate is to give queer women a space where we can feel completely free—free of hate, free of judgment, and free of the fear of being bothered. I want my events to feel like a sanctuary where we can connect, dance, and celebrate ourselves and each other. There are still too few spaces for us, and I’m committed to continuing to create them until queer women can find a safe, fun space every night of the week.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn in my career was the idea that I had to do everything on my own. In the past, I had experiences working with business partners that left me feeling like my vision was being compromised. That made me want to take full control and handle everything myself, because I thought that was the only way to stay true to what I wanted to create for the queer community.
But I quickly realized that if I wanted to produce the kind of large-scale, innovative events I dreamed of—spaces that really elevate queer women’s nightlife—I couldn’t do it completely alone. The truth is, help can look different than just a business partner. Instead, I started to build a team: assistants, designers, DJs, promoters, and creatives who believe in the same mission I do.
Learning to trust my team has been a game-changer. It’s allowed me to grow my events to a new level and actually expand the number of safe spaces I can offer to the community. By letting go of the idea that I had to carry it all myself, I’ve opened the door to bigger, bolder possibilities—and to a future where queer women have more spaces than ever to feel free, celebrated, and seen.
