Hi Lysa, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?

My best investment, hands down, is my travel agency. My first business venture and my first peek at multilevel marketing.
Book With tha Boss Lady began as me having a hobby and traveling more for less while earning money. It ended up being so much more!

If I had never invested that $200 in this travel agency, I would never have met so many wonderful people, been so many exotic places, learned so many valuable lessons, and upgraded the lifestyle for myself and my children. We see things so very differently now and of course we move accordingly. As a result, people handle us accordingly. We walk into rooms we never dreamed of walking into before! We do things we never thought we could. And it only started my entrepreneurial journey.

When hurricane Harvey took everything we had, we relocated and replaced everything, all because of my travel agency. I began to realize that residual income is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. I do not know what would have happened to my family had I not taken that leap.

Now I own several businesses and I am a travel agent Coach. I never imagined this life for myself but now I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Lysa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Lysa (tha Boss Lady) and travel is my passion. I have been a certified travel agent for 6 years and I love what I do. My biggest flex is how hard I go for my clients. You tell me what you want, I *snaps fingers* make it happen. In any event that anything goes wrong, I’m here to advocate for you. Believe me it’ll get fixed, not now, but RIGHT NOW.

My biggest flex as a TRAINER is that I cultivate your knowledge by leading you in the path that you choose to go. (Everybody’s path is different) I also guarantee your success and commissions as I shadow you as you book travel for clients thereby earning experience as well as commissions. I’m a very hands on Coach and I believe in holding your hand until you get acquainted and ready to run.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn the toxic words/phrases “scam” and “pyramid scheme”. As a GenXer, we were taught to go to school, get a good job, retire.

Unfortunately in this time, that no longer exists. We had to learn during Covid to build what used to be considered as “side hustles”. Now those side hustles are essential to keep up with the changing times.

You really don’t know what you don’t know! If you don’t open your mind to infinite possibilities, you won’t know.
Information is free and it is necessary. Even if you choose to say No to something, make an educated decision by finding out all the information first.

I had to learn to not give up or let No discourage me.
Every question you don’t ask, the answer is No. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. You just have to DO IT! Feel the fear abs do it anyway.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I am very engaging, on or off social media. It’s not hard for me to create engaging content. I’m very positive and fun loving, people always want to know what I’m doing next. It’s important to be this way. Also be transparent. Be fun, be exciting. People won’t know what you expect from you so they’ll constantly look on your page to see what you’re doing next.
