We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyler Ridgle. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyler below.
Tyler, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The sort of legacy I’m hoping to build is centered around inclusivity and the courage to follow my soul’s purpose. My life has taken me in many different directions. Though my path might seem strange to some, I’ve been consistent in how deeply I’ve cared for the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with and how I’ve represented myself as a person and professional. Hopefully, people will remember me as the woman who put her whole heart into everything she did.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The beauty industry has been a huge part of my life since I was young, coming up during the YouTube age of beauty gurus and influencers. Though I would always experiment with makeup and skin care, I didn’t decide to start pursing my love for the beauty industry until the age of 19. I got my feet wet as a makeup artist by taking on college film projects and photoshoots when I wasn’t busy studying. This was my way of fueling my passion to create something while also pursuing a more “practical” career.
In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I graduated from Cal State University Northridge with a Bachelors in Broadcast Journalism. That same year, I was hired in Medford, Oregon as a news reporter and weekend anchor for a local news station. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but family matters back home in Los Angeles took precedent so I moved back in 2022.
Though things weren’t going as I had originally planned, I knew God had more in store for me. The fire within me was still burning to create. My professional background opened a door for me to work as a segment producer for a reality TV show and during that time, I started an online candle business, AER Essentials. When I saw the potential of what my life could be by owning a business, I took the leap of going back to school to get my esthetician’s license in hopes of growing my skin care and makeup business, AER Esthetics.
Since earning my license, I’ve provided mobile facials and makeup services to my clients throughout the Los Angeles area. My goal is for all of my clients to leave feeling like they did something to benefit them, whether it be improved skin health or the confidence boost they needed for a special event. Though I hope to always be able to travel to my clients to provide my services, I eventually hope to open an esthetics spa where my clients can get an even more lavish experience.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I like to keep in touch with my clients and foster brand loyalty by engaging as consistently as possible online with my clients. Making sure I’m always responding to clients in a timely manner is my top priority.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn only sticking to one skill. As much as I believe in perfecting a specific skill, I also believe that there is something to be said for someone who knows a little bit about everything. I don’t like being caught off guard and I think the best way to reduce my chances of being surprised by a curve ball is by being prepared for any and everything.
