We were lucky to catch up with Naomi Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Naomi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I am extremely happy as a creative for the simple fact that I’m living my passion while walking in my purpose. There have been a few instances where I’ve thought about what having a regular job would be like. These thoughts have come up in moments where I felt my creative talents were being overlooked, my income wasn’t where I wanted it to be, or my days weren’t organized. This led to constant thoughts of how much stability I could have working a 9-5. Since I’m such an organized person, I began to think I would be more comfortable knowing I get a fixed amount of money, on a specific date, while starting and ending my day at the same time consistently. This mindset shifted as I changed my habits and took control over my lifestyle. I knew this was something I wanted to pursue so I had to take action on the title “boss” . Having full control over my schedule, time management, negotiations, etc. taught me responsibility and made me realize the freedom that comes with this lifestyle is beyond worth it, I just had to learn how to navigate through it and treat it as the job it is while still enjoying it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Naomi Rose but I just go by Nay! I’m a Content Creator transparently sharing my lifestyle through my motherhood and Lupus journey. Sharing my story through content creation in a lighthearted approach allows me to resonate with my audience in an informative, yet comical way across all my platforms.
In 2017 while in college, I started to pursue my career in Film Production in the costume department working on set of Thor Ragnarok, The Gifted, Star, and more. At the same time, I was actively doing Youtube on the side with no intention other than to let my creative side flow. I had tons of ideas in my head that I just wanted to release and share with others.
Opportunities slowly started to present themselves in the social media world such as traveling to represent brands, attending events, monetization on Youtube, and collaborations. That’s when I realized I could take this hobby to another level. When I got pregnant in 2019, I combined my Film Production degree with my creative skillsets to transition into being a full time content creator.
I’ve been blessed enough to reach millions of people through YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, Facebook, etc. who have similar interests and journeys as men so I would say I’m most proud of the positive impact and life-changing moments my content has had on so many people. Because of this, I dedicate hours into every piece of content I publish because there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing my content inspire people to embrace every single part of who they are.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal with my creative journey is to inspire and open the door for people to resonate with me. There’s no better feeling that seeing and being told by my supporters the positive impact that my transparency has had. The feedback I receive is definitely my confirmation that this is my passion and purpose so I’m on a mission to continue reaching as many people as I can in different ways.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best way to support creatives is by interacting with their work! It’s as simple as commenting, reposting, telling a friend, getting their name out, purchasing something, sharing ideas, etc. The creative space can be so secluded so support always goes a long way. Networking and who you know can go so far and if an artists’ work connects with the right person, it can take them far so support is more appreciated than people might think.
