We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Foster recently and have shared our conversation below.

Victoria , appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?

I do manage my own social media and although I would love to hire a company to manage, right now I feel it’s important for me to handle it on my own as I establish my voice. I’ve learned that although social media is an important tool to use to showcase my skills, people still want to get to know you and have a personal connection to you. I would encourage business owners to embrace social media and learn the ins and outs of the platforms you’re on.

Victoria , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I have an interesting career path. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 5 years and prior to that I was in the Air Force for 10 years. I took a leap of faith to follow what I am passionate about instead of continuing my Air Force career and I have never looked back! I provide makeup services from anyone from models to the everyday person and I’ve leaved that at the end of the day, people just want to FEEL good and I am really honored to be part of that journey for people. I get to participate in this as well as a brow artist and facialist. I’m most proud of the level of professionalism I bring to the table and that’s for sure my military background coming into play.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Mel Robbin’s, Brene Brown, and Tim Ferris’s books and podcasts have impacted my business philosophy significantly

Have you ever had to pivot?

When the pandemic happened, I was primarily a bridal makeup artist so my work just stopped all at once. My professional mentor suggested I go to esthetics school while I had a bunch of time on my hands and that pivot has opened up an entirely new career that I love!
