We recently connected with Robert Galicia and have shared our conversation below.
Robert, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
After using our personal buses to take a few friends out for Tacos, I remised on the enjoyment of the evening. It wasn’t the first time we’ve eaten tacos nor was it the first time on the party bus. What stood out was the constant engagement. The ability to laugh, dance thrown in with some food stops was great. Discussing the taco we just ate and debating on which salsa was the best was engaging. I thought to myself if we had this much fun, would others?

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are the Red Machine Party Bus. The ownership of the buses goes back to 2014 but the business itself kicked off in 2024. We offer transportation for a variety of events. We like to say if a Party Bus can be a part of it, We do it. We started with tailgating for the Chiefs and then expanded into transportation for KC Royals, KC Current and Concerts. We pride ourselves on solving for gaps on how people reach their favorite events. Ride/Share to the Chiefs games is a nightmare, we solved for it by picking up groups/individuals and taking to them to the games. KC Current( Limited parking ), we partnered with Double Tap in City Market to sponsor free rides to the stadium. Lately our partnership with Visit KCK to increase tourism to KCK has been rewarding.

How’d you meet your business partner?
It was the Fall of 2013. The Chiefs were 9-0 and headed to Denver for an away game. I organized a road trip on the bus and advertised on a few radio stations. My now Partner Mark Coronado heard about our trip and reached out to join. He wanted to help out anyway he could. We agreed he would drive out a day prior and work to find us a place to park the bus full of people and throw a Tailgate. After a successful event, Mark started to join our local tailgates and over the years has been instrumental to our growth. 2 Years ago , he joined full time as my partner.

How did you build your audience on social media?
We realized it wasn’t easy for people to trust “personal individual Social Media accounts. Therefore we launch our Facebook page. We slowly started sharing pictures and outing to help tell our story of who we were using visual aids. Slowly people would add content, join as followers and tag us in stories. We were so Proud when we reached 1000 Followers. We threw a mini party for this achievement. Today we have over 2k and growing. Always grow, always add meaningful content, add a variety. That keeps the customers engaged.
