We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Caitlin Minshew. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Caitlin below.
Alright, Caitlin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My hero is, without a doubt, my Dad. He is the definition of smart, successful, and strong. My dad raised me in a single-family home since I was three. My mom was around but had issues of her own. We were extremely close, but sadly, her personal issues led to her passing away suddenly 5 years ago.
My dad has always encouraged me and motivated me to do my absolute best in life. He has been through more than anyone I know, but still wakes up every day with a smile on his face, caring and giving to people in need.
As far as how he has influenced my journey, he motivates me to keep growing and be the very best that I can be. When I graduated from high school, I truly did not know what I wanted to do with my life. I wasn’t sure if college was for me, but he always told me, “You need to get a degree. Once you get your degree, you can do just about anything, and no one can take that away from you.” That has always stuck with me, so I went to college. It took me longer than most to complete, but I stuck with it and graduated with my bachelor’s in business and marketing.
From there, I tapped into my creative side and got into social media. I always knew I wanted to start a business and make something of myself. Once I started blogging and creating content, a flame in me ignited, and from there I haven’t stopped. I love continuing to grow my brand and business.
My dad has loved watching me on my journey and is my biggest fan. For that, I am forever grateful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Caitin Minshew, I am born and raised in New Orleans. I originally started Eating with Cait as a fun way to share my favorite restaurants, hidden gems, and the unique culture of New Orleans. Over time, it grew into a trusted local food and lifestyle brand where I get to showcase not just what’s on the plate, but the experiences, businesses, and communities that make New Orleans so special. My journey into content creation came naturally, I’ve always had an eye for detail and loved photography and videography. Alongside my work as a content creator, I co-founded The New Orleans Girls Club, which is a hub for women in the city to connect, collaborate, and build meaningful friendships. Looking ahead, I’ll also be officially launching my social media management company, Lagniappe Social Co., which will help restaurants, businesses, and entrepreneurs grow their online presence in a way that feels authentic and community-driven.
What sets me apart is that everything I do comes from a place of authenticity and local love. Whether I’m creating content, hosting events, or soon managing social media for clients, I focus on storytelling that makes people feel connected and inspired. My goal is always to highlight the real New Orleans, the flavors, the culture, the women, and the community that make this city so vibrant.
I’m most proud of the communities I’ve built, from the thousands who trust Eating with Cait for where to eat and what to do, to the women who have found lasting friendships through the New Orleans Girls Club. And I’m excited to grow even further with the launch of Lagniappe Social Co., helping small businesses thrive with thoughtful social media strategies. At the end of the day, I want people to know that my brand is about connection, celebration, and creating experiences, whether it’s discovering your new favorite restaurant, feeling at home in a community of women, or watching your business come to life online.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what’s really helped me build my reputation is staying true to my brand and separating myself from the crowd. In the content world, it’s easy to get caught up in trends or feel pressure to create what everyone else is doing, but I’ve always made it a priority to showcase my authentic voice and vision.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is knowing that what I put out into the world brings people together. With Eating with Cait, it’s been so fulfilling to watch people try a restaurant because they saw it on my page, or to hear that a follower discovered a new favorite spot thanks to my recommendation. It’s more than just sharing food, it’s about telling the story of New Orleans and connecting people to the culture and community that make it special.
The same goes for the New Orleans Girls Club. Seeing women come to our events and walk away with real friendships, collaborations, or even just a sense of belonging is the most meaningful thing to me. It proves that creativity can be about so much more than content, it can be a way to build community and make people feel at home.
