Alexis, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Success in my industry requires discipline, confidence, and a strong personality. After serving over nine years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, I’ve developed a level of structure and commitment that sets me apart. As a photographer in Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, I pride myself on my crazy fast turnaround times and an unmatched work ethic that I know my clients appreciate. My military background allows me to take charge, while being a mom to a three-year-old gives me patience and understanding. My sessions are relaxed and candid, creating genuine connections whether it’s with couples, families, expecting mamas, or anyone looking to capture beautiful moments!

Hi! I’m Alexis Wissinger, the face behind Birdi Photography. As a Navy veteran, I’ve had the privilege of traveling and experiencing some of the world’s most unique and beautiful places during my deployments. Now, I’m channeling that inspiration into my passion for photography.

Birdi Photography is a new venture I started as I transitioned from active duty to civilian life. I’m a lifestyle photographer in the Hampton Roads area, specializing in maternity, family, couples, newborn, and portrait photography. My 60+ minute sessions are more than just time in front of the camera—they’re a unique experience tailored to each client.

Nothing compares to capturing love in all its forms, and that’s what I’m here to do. I focus on telling your story through authentic, candid photos that celebrate life’s big and small moments.
