Today we’d like to introduce you to Stormie Steele.
Hi Stormie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I want to thank you Bold Journey for reaching out to me again, the timing was impeccable! Your correspondence met me grieving the life story of a loved one’s tragic transitioning. Part of her story was my story, the outcome painfully different.
We’re born into the stories of our parents, in labyrinths that attempt to orchestrate our destiny, our identity—fortunate or unfortunate…healthy or unhealthy. The impact of those stories carve within the core of our being some of our most ingrained beliefs about ourselves, life, love and our worth. This is especially true for those whose developmental years are marked by childhood abuse. While the impact of those stories differ, the similarities find kinship.
Healing has been one of my most intentionally pursued goals in life, realignment with the freedom of self-assurance and uninhibited expression I knew as a child. Today, I am free enough to BE!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s rare to navigate life without obstacles or challenge. Life is a journey, a voyage of constants. Those constants are there to remind us of who we are, we are not along the way and that we pass from scene to scene with the advantage of choices. Sometimes constants (disguised as struggles) are our teachers/nudgers of discomfort, luring us away from familiarity and comfort zones. That being said, the road has not been smooth—but, it has been filled with hope and attainable possibilities.
Melding with God’s unconditional love is no easy feat when core development has been shifted from its foundation. There is struggle in forgiving those who refuse to acknowledge their offense, while simultaneously learning to embrace and understand the necessity of emotional resolve—it’s dueling uncharted territory. The struggles of unlearning, dismantling beliefs, patterns and perceptions resulted from abuse is real. Arrested development is real. Stepping away from the injured self is real! Respecting the authenticity and vulnerability of the uninjured self is miraculously real!
As I stated in my first interview with Bold Journey, the choice of believing that I was not bound to live by my experiences alone opened a world of personal and spiritual empowerment. Learning to personalize truths beyond those early experiences has been WORK! Maintaining those truths serve as a continuous labor of love.
“Physical heal thyself” ~Luke 4:23
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My professional life and work is deeply intwined in my personal and spiritual journey. The perfectly imperfect story has broadened my perspective on living and being. At core, I am a creative—an author/speaker who writes/speaks to those whose journey and movement towards healing synchronizes at the crossroad of preparedness and transformation.
“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11).
“Hurt people hurt people, healed people heal people”. My joiurney is a reminder; healing is attainable, it’s possible. I am one of the many suppliers of “daily bread”. How that bread is consumed is up to the seeker. Ultimately, the seeker of healing comes to understand their sacred role in guardianship towards overall wellbeing.
Artist:
Storm’s FineArt ~ A Collection of Original Abstract Series

My art is an abstract reminder of beauty found through inarticulate places of color, depth, layers and texture—unexpectedly birthing life and meaning. Storm’s FineArt aligns with principles and ideology coinciding with my personal philosophy of living and being—life’s paradoxes contain hidden riches.
*Certified Sound Healing Practitioner, Djembeist (drum circle facilitator)
The quiet opens us, it is my truth. The stillness discloses us, rhythm stabilizes us! Facilitating breath work, meditation, drumming and sound-healing opens participants to recognize possibilities within their own voyages of becoming.
Performing Artist, djembeist (drum circle facilitator), vocalist, songwriter, storyteller and healing arts spoken word expressionist.
Voice is a vessel of expression—a sound that resonates/vibrates emotion and words igniting movement from within. As a performing artist, my aspiration is to inspire observers and participants to be drawn into their own world of energetic collaboration with life’s rhythm and creativity.
“We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”. ~Psalm 124:7,8
Essentially, in my professional career, I challenge and encourage others to attend to the sole/soul WORK of becoming.
What were you like growing up?
During the first 6 years of growing up, I was a quiet (not shy), observant, reserved and creative. I enjoyed being a little girl—whistling, skipping, coloring, drawing and singing was fun! I loved learning. I loved reading and writing, it was easy pretending to be in stories I read or heard. I loved being outdoors running without shoes, playing imaginary games in the yard…I knew how to entertain myself, my little belly was filled with laughter!
