We were lucky to catch up with Domoneque Daughtry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Domoneque thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
How I came up with the name “DAUGHTRY GALORE” for my company is simple to me, but inspiring and motivating to others when I explain it. My last name is Daughtry and to break it down further, D- Destined to stand out, A- Authenticity over approval, U- unshakeable confidence, G- God-given vision, H-Hustle with heart, T-Truth in every thread, R- Royal in spirit, Y- Your story, your crown. Galore stands for G- Grace, A- Authentically anointed, L- Light-bearer, O- Obedient to purpose, R- Redefined by fire, E- Endurance in every season. All in all, ” DAUGHTRY GALORE ” is set apart and is made to spread positive messages and provide a special kind of feeling when someone wears our clothing pieces.

Domoneque , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Greetings ALL,
I am thee Domoneque Daughtry. I was born in Portsmouth, Va but raised in Chesapeake, Va. I currently reside in Hampton, Va with my wife and business partner Jamie Daughtry. I received my G.E.D. in 2010 and graduated with an associate’s degree in early childhood education in 2017. I have worked for a few local daycare centers, Head Start program, public school systems, as well as a behavioral health center as a mental health tech. I wore many hats and accomplished many achievements while working for someone else. In 2021, I decided that I had enough of working for someone else and desired to become my own boss. Although I had been desired to make that move, it wasn’t until my wife then girlfriend PUSHED and SUPPORTED me to the starting line.
I have always loved working in Education, and I still currently run my own in-home daycare, but the hunger and an underlying passion for fashion woke up in 2024. Although I had previously tried to birth a brand before, the lack of support and sales killed my spark and drive, so… I GAVE UP. In March of 2024 I just had so many visions, messages, designs that I could not shake off my brain/thoughts. You see, DAUGHTRY GALORE is not your typical brand. In every piece of clothing piece, I strive to send a positive message all while providing an UNDENAIABLE SWAG OF INDIVIDUALITY!
I have had many opportunities come my way this time around with our brand. I say OUR because I feel guilty not acknowledging the fact that MY WIFE is most definitely another reason why DAUGHTRY GALORE is doing so well. So many people don’t think that having a supportive spouse makes a difference in whatever career/industry you are in, but it does. The support this time around is flourishing and springing up in ways I only imagined at once.
What sets DAUGHTRY GALORE apart from others is the way we ACKNOWLEDGE GOD in EVERYTHING that we do. Spreading the love, word, and power of GOD through our brand is what’s most important and set us apart.
What I would like my potential customers to know is that they are guaranteed to be drawn to our brand because it’s built on a firm foundation of positivity, great quality, and a strong message to never give up on you and know that you are wrapped in love and positivity.
Even in our slogan, there is a message. “It’s Thee Experience 4 Me” just simply says that no matter what you go through in life, it’s an experience. It’s how we use those things good or bad to push forward and help someone else in life.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite sales stories happened just a few weeks ago. I am a giving person and anything I do it’s from the heart and I only want to make the people that I come in contact with feel loved, seen and appreciated.
So, I had ordered door dash and when it arrived, I randomly asked the guy delivering if he liked and would wear a particular shirt. I held it up let him look at it and he said ” That’s dope! Yeah, I like that.” “I’m going to have to check you out.” He asked for my social media info, I provided it, and as he turned to walk away, I said ” Here” He turned and said, “This for me?” I’m like absolutely!
Well about a week and a half later he reached out to me on my Instagram @daughtry_galore_apparel and was inquiring about purchasing some merch from me. I was so grateful to GOD and for him because I’m just beginning with the brand and that sale gave me more confidence and motivation to keep being a going. I just knew I would probably never hear from this guy again, but all my goal in mind was to bless someone all while spreading the word of our brand.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
What has seemed to be the best source of new clients for us is networking, and being a part of this non-profit organization called “AYO UNIVERSITY”. It’s a store in Town Mall in WESTMINSTER, MD. A guy by the name of Durell (AYO) Paige and Monica J created opportunities for small brand owners to put their items in their store. The store houses over 150 brands in one location and they also have 3 other locations.
This opportunity alone has boosted our clientele because the training, promoting, and support they supply the brand owners with. All you have to do is be teachable and utilize the help and skills that are taught.
