Today we’d like to introduce you to George Shands.

Hi George, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business in 2018 with the goal of making the world smell good. I only sold one air freshener at the time, but I had bigger dreams for my business. Slowly I started to expand GFresh Emporium by adding new scents to my air freshener line and it was a huge success! Fast forward to 2024, I am selling a wide variety of aromatherapy products. I have a website, social media and email thread so I can keep in touch with all the fans of GFresh. I love running my own business and making an impact on the community. I also DJ occasionally which brings me to much joy!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing like it is today. When I first started I had to teach myself how to run my business when it came to shipping and ordering supplies. After learning from my mistakes, I can run my business with ease!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, GFresh, is unique because I offer a wide variety of quality products and find accessible ways to produce them as I am a disabled small business owner. GFresh started from humble beginnings with just one air freshener, but now I sell all sorts of products! I still sell air fresheners, but now a days I sell incense, tub teas, shower steamers, toilet spray and mints! I also sell gift boxes if someone wants to test out all of my products. I feel like my DJ skills also set me apart from others because I can make the world smell and sound good!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I stayed home for a while, but thankfully I was still making online sales. I was happy to be able to reach out to the community during this tough time.
