Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Wimpy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Wimpy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission since I started tattooing has always been to create an environment for artists that motivate other artists to grow and build a team that want the best for one another. I love tattooing and every aspect that comes with the industry.

Wimpy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started finding interest in tattooing when I was going into high school. I took art as serious as I could and became motivated to make a career out of it. I’ve been tattooing for 8 years. I feel like owning a tattoo shop is everyone’s dream and to be able to achieve that and provide a space for other artists to grow and create without having to worry about anything other then their art.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that I was better than other artists. For awhile I was so driven in the industry and I thought I was surpassing people left and right but I became quickly humbled early on in my career. There’s always someone better than you and everyone interprets art in different ways. There’s never an end to learning in this industry and that’s what I love the most.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media was new to me even growing up around it. I never thought to use it to build a brand. There are so many influencers and content creators and I think it’s such a benefit for artists like myself to go on there and showcase our work to everyone. Advice for new artists trying to build their presence? Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Be yourself and more people will notice and appreciate your genuine self.
