Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tai Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tai, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Sooo… let me be real for a second—like, really honest. I’ve been a full-time business owner for about three years now, and honestly, I still feel new in a lot of ways. There’s so much I’m still learning, and while that can be a little overwhelming, it’s also exciting. There’s so much room for growth—both in business and in who I am as a person.
One thing I love about having my own business is the freedom to be creative and express myself however I want—no approvals, no asking permission. I get to call the shots, and that’s empowering.
Of course, the flip side is that everything—the success, the struggles, the survival of it all—lands on me. Sometimes I catch myself thinking how easy it would be to just clock into a 9–5, do my job, go home, and not carry all this weight. But the truth is, I’ve never grown as much as I have since starting this business.
I get to follow my passions, help people, and have fun doing it in a way that feels authentic to me. So yeah, being a business owner is work, but it’s also incredible. It’s brought out strengths I didn’t even know I had and really shaped how I show up in the world.

Tai, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tai Lewis — founder of T-Fit Training / Forever Fit Health and Wellness, and I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 20 years! I’m proud to be an elite trainer with ISSA, and throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats—from personal trainer and group fitness instructor to training fitness competitors.
I’m also a professional performer based in Las Vegas, so movement, energy, and expression have always been a part of who I am. That passion for movement is what led me to one of the most fulfilling chapters of my career.
In 2022, I was offered the opportunity to teach fitness classes for active aging communities. Since then, I’ve built a team of amazing instructors, and together, we’ve been serving senior residences all across the Las Vegas valley.
Forever Fit Health and Wellness brings high-energy, heart-filled fitness programs to older adults. Our classes include dance cardio, strength and balance training, water aerobics, memory-boosting movement, and so much more.
What sets us apart is the heart we bring into every class. It’s not just about exercise—it’s about music, movement, laughter, and genuine connection. We help older adults feel strong, confident, and fully alive.
The most rewarding part? Seeing someone light up in class. Hearing that they’re walking better, laughing more, or feeling like themselves again. Watching this idea turn into a movement that’s changing lives keeps me motivated every single day.
And I’m just getting started—I’m excited to keep growing, keep serving, and keep finding new ways to make a meaningful impact.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
For the longest time, I was a solopreneur—handling everything on my own. From finding clients to keeping them, managing revenue, and running day-to-day operations, it was all on me. But when I was introduced to this opportunity, I quickly realized I couldn’t do it alone. I needed great instructors to help lead the classes!
I had never hired anyone before and honestly had no clue what I was looking for. But thankfully, I ended up finding some truly amazing people to work with.
What I’ve learned is that your team is the lifeblood of your business, and you’re the heart. There’s a delicate balance of trust and mutual reliance—one can’t function without the other. I tried doing it all myself, but my business runs so much smoother when my team is aligned and moving with the same purpose.
I believe in nurturing my team through education, opportunity, and encouragement. That means offering tools to help them grow their skills, giving them space to apply those skills, and recognizing their efforts along the way. A little support goes a long way—and when your team thrives, your whole business thrives.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’ve got tons of stories—LOL! I joke that I have a PhD in Resilience! But for real, yes—I definitely have a story to tell.
I’m not just a CEO. I’m also a wife and a mom to the two most amazing kids in the world. I feel like it’s important to share this part of my journey, because people need to see all the different ways a CEO can look. We’re out here building businesses while raising families, juggling life, and still showing up.
When I first went full-time with my personal training business, my son was only about 6 months old. I didn’t have childcare at the time, so sometimes he had to come with me to sessions. Picture this: I’m counting reps for a client while my baby is having a full-blown meltdown in a dirty diaper! Total chaos! Most of my clients were super understanding, But I still felt uncomfortable, and I questioned whether I could really do this—be a mom and an entrepreneur.
But looking back, those moments didn’t break me—they shaped me. They reminded me that yes, I’m a mom and I’m a business owner. Both roles come with challenges, and that’s okay. I made a decision: no matter how hard it gets, how messy it looks, or how uncertain it feels, I’m going to keep pushing forward. Because I know I have something valuable to offer in this space.
And if nothing else, I want to be an example for my kids—so they know they can keep going too, even when things aren’t perfect.
