We were lucky to catch up with Eugenio Sosa recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Eugenio thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Yes, I’ve been able to make a full-time living from my creative work, but it definitely wasn’t that way from day one. For me, everything started with a deep passion for storytelling—especially through the lens of sports. I began at the bottom, learning every technical and production role I could, gradually building a path that led me to more strategic positions, eventually becoming Executive Producer of major projects like 90 Minutos de Fútbol, multiple FIFA World Cups, the Olympic Games, and more recently, digital-first productions from Miami.
One of the key milestones in my career was leading 90 Minutos de Fútbol for 17 years on ESPN. That meant delivering consistent creativity, adapting to evolving platforms and audience habits, and managing a high-level team under constant pressure. Another crucial shift was transitioning into digital production. Creating original streaming content across live and on-demand formats allowed me to stay relevant and expand into new markets, including the U.S.
Could I have accelerated the journey? Probably. Looking back, I realize the power of personal branding, of diversifying content across platforms, and most importantly, surrounding yourself with a team that enhances your vision with precision and trust. That said, I also believe every phase taught me something valuable. My identity as a producer—versatile, strategic, and audience-driven—was shaped by every step of that journey.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who haven’t read about me before—my name is Eugenio Sosa. I’m an Executive Producer in television and digital media, with over 20 years of experience creating impactful content, especially in the world of sports and current affairs. I started my career at just 21 years old at Torneos, one of the most influential production companies in Latin America, and since then, I’ve dedicated my life to crafting stories that connect, inspire, and move audiences.
What I do is lead teams, develop multi-platform content, and transform creative ideas into powerful television or digital experiences. Some of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on include 90 Minutos de Fútbol (a top-rated ESPN show that aired for 17 years), multiple FIFA World Cups, Copa América tournaments, Olympic Games, and more recently, original productions in Miami such as Informe Leo (focused on Lionel Messi’s world), special political coverage for Infobae, and dynamic live streaming formats like Paren la Mano and Circo Beach.
What I bring to the table is a balance of vision, structure, and creativity. Whether in traditional broadcast or digital-first environments, my mission remains the same: to create relevant, engaging content that strengthens audience connection. I help media brands, talents, and companies elevate their message and storytelling to the next level.
What I’m most proud of is maintaining excellence over time—adapting to an evolving industry while staying true to what audiences crave: real emotion, authenticity, and high standards. I’m also grateful for the long-standing relationships I’ve built with journalists, talent, and production teams, who share the same passion for storytelling that I do.
If there’s one thing I’d like future clients, partners, or followers to know about me, it’s that I approach every project with a mix of method, instinct, and deep attention to detail. I don’t create content just to fill time—I do it because I believe in the power of well-crafted stories to inspire, entertain, and make a lasting impact.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes, there was a pivotal moment in my professional life when I had to completely change course. After more than 20 years working as an Executive Producer in Latin America—leading some of the region’s most influential sports shows and covering global events like World Cups, Copa América tournaments, and the Olympic Games—I made a life-changing decision: at the age of 41, I moved to the United States in search of new goals and challenges.
It wasn’t just about relocating; it was about stepping out of a very comfortable and well-established professional position to start over in a new country, a new market, with different rules, expectations, and audiences.
This shift required me to re-learn many things—how to produce content in a more hybrid environment between digital and television, how to shape bilingual narratives for multicultural audiences, and how to create original formats with a fresh perspective in a highly competitive ecosystem.
Looking back, that decision was one of the most courageous and transformative steps in my career. It forced me to reinvent myself without losing my core identity as a producer: someone who tells meaningful stories, leads with purpose, and creates content that resonates deeply with audiences.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the real impact that what you do can have on the audience. There is a deep satisfaction, hard to explain, when a story you produced sparks conversation, sets the agenda, or simply makes people feel moved, reflect, or see themselves represented.
As a producer, I have often experienced that magical moment when a program not only airs but becomes part of people’s daily lives: when a clip goes viral, when the media picks it up, when a family table talks about what they watched last night. That invisible connection with the viewer, that cultural imprint, is what fills me with the most pride.
It’s not just about entertaining — although entertainment is a powerful way to communicate — but about feeling that what you create carries weight, soul, and transcends the screen. That is the true reward for me: knowing that what you made mattered.
