Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carolina Bubbico. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Carolina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Among the most meaningful projects I have created is Pangea, a concert entirely orchestrated by me for symphony orchestra, a musical journey that aims to reinforce and celebrate the concept of universal music, as if it were a great Pangea from which all the world’s languages originate.
I began by researching traditional music from distant and diverse parts of the world, trying to shape a journey that could highlight the common ground between the musical styles that most captured my attention. Pangea seeks to shine a light on the music that has traveled across the seas and was born from the encounters between different peoples and cultures.
It is a multilingual and multicultural journey, for which I worked intensively on the orchestral writing and in which I also sing all the music performed.
This project represents my greatest dream: to compose and sing an entire concert for symphony orchestra that embodies music in its most universal sense.

Carolina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a musician, singer, and pianist, born and raised in a family of musicians, with both of my parents deeply involved in music. From an early age, music has always been more than a passion: it’s been a way to experience the world more deeply, to connect with others more honestly, and to express what words often can’t.
I began studying music as a child, encouraged by my father to try different instruments so I could discover the one that resonated most with me. Piano and voice quickly became my anchors, constant companions that shaped my musical identity. Their versatility and emotional range have allowed me to explore sound in both personal and expansive ways.
After experimenting with bands during my teenage years, I made the decision to pursue music professionally soon after finishing school. I enrolled in a five-year conservatory program, which became a powerful period of growth and self-discovery. It was there that I began to understand not just what I loved, but who I was, musically and artistically. At 23, I released my first solo album, a pivotal moment where I realized how essential orchestration was to my creative voice. Even in that debut, I wrote original arrangements for string quartet and wind trio, an early step into a broader, collective way of thinking about music.
Alongside that, I developed a solo performance project called One Girl Band, where I orchestrated live music in real time using a loop station. It became a playground for harmony, rhythm, and layered textures, and another step forward in my journey toward a fully immersive, orchestral sound.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on several albums, collaborating as a performer, arranger, and conductor, and teaching pop voice at the conservatory. I’m now working on my fourth album, a project I feel especially close to. This time, I chose to build the entire record around the voice, treating it as the central instrument. My goal was to explore how the voice alone can carry the full depth and range of an orchestral composition, from rhythm and harmony to emotion and narrative. It’s been one of my most joyful and creatively liberating experiences.
At the heart of everything I do is the desire to find my truth through music, and to share that truth in a way that reaches people on a deep, human level. I hope to connect with curious, open-hearted listeners who are willing to let music move them, challenge them, and maybe even change them, just as it continues to change me.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission in music is to envision a world with more conscious, curious, and emotionally attuned listeners, people who actively choose the music they engage with, guided not by trends or algorithms, but by genuine connection and inner resonance.
I believe in a future where audiences are empowered to seek out what moves them, beyond the noise of mainstream systems that often silence individuality and put creators under pressure to conform. This shift would allow artists, myself included, to create more freely, to explore more honestly, and to follow our true artistic paths without being confined by market-driven expectations.
We’re living in a time where repetition and imitation threaten to blur the identities of artists, pushing many to the edge of losing themselves and their original voices. My hope is for a deep transformation — one that restores space for authenticity, risk-taking, and true creative freedom.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
During motherhood, I found myself in a moment of crisis where I no longer knew what creative direction to take.
To be honest, I often feel this kind of confusion at the beginning of writing a new album, the desire to evolve, to surpass my previous work, to reach greater success, while still trying to stay true to myself and be artistically effective. But this time, the uncertainty was even deeper, amplified by the major life shift of becoming a mother, and everything that transformation entails.
Resilience, and a deep desire to bloom again, pushed me to find a stronger, more distinctive artistic identity. I searched for a clearer focus, something that could truly represent me and guide me through this new phase. That process led me to a defined and purposeful path that reawakened both my creativity and productivity, and eventually gave life to a full, rich, and brave new album. It’s a project that reflects an essential part of who I am as a musician, and I’m genuinely proud of it.
Creating this album required immense sacrifices, of time, space, and energy. I carved out every moment I could, and I learned to use time with much more focus and intention. Ever since becoming a mother, so much of my time and attention has been dedicated to my daughter and her growth, and yet, I managed to build something meaningful alongside that.
I’m proud of myself and of what I’m creating, and I truly hope that listeners will receive this new work with the same passion and enthusiasm I poured into it.
