We recently connected with Erin Villarreal and have shared our conversation below.
Erin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I’d be lying if I said I’ve never thought about going back to a regular job. Being a business owner can be really rewarding, but it also comes with a lot of pressure, especially during slow seasons. The last time I had that thought was when things got quiet and I didn’t have any new clients lined up. I was stressing about money, second-guessing myself, and honestly just feeling overwhelmed. I remember sitting there thinking, “Maybe it would be easier to just have a 9–5, get a steady paycheck, and not have to constantly hustle.”
But then I reminded myself why I started this in the first place. I love helping people feel more at peace in their homes. I love the flexibility, the creativity, and the connection I get to build with clients. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful and I don’t take that for granted. So yeah, I think about the “what ifs” sometimes, but I always come back to this: I’m doing something I care deeply about, and that makes the hard days worth it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! I’m Erin, the owner of *Your Home in Bloom*, a home organizing and interior styling business based in Orlando, Florida. I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and I found that one of the most impactful ways I could do that was by supporting them through their environment. When our spaces feel overwhelming, it’s hard to think clearly or feel at ease and that’s where I come in.
I started this business in 2022 after years of working in customer service and navigating my own mental health journey. I realized that organizing wasn’t just about tidying up, it was a way to bring comfort, confidence, and clarity back into people’s lives. I primarily work with women and families, including those managing ADHD, depression, or major life transitions, to create calm, functional systems that support their everyday routines.
I offer home organizing, decluttering, packing and unpacking, product sourcing, and interior styling. What makes *Your Home in Bloom* different is the way I approach each client with compassion, not judgment. I take the time to truly understand what’s working and what’s not, and then I create personalized solutions that are both beautiful and sustainable.
What I’m most proud of is being able to give people back not just a space they love, but a space that helps them feel better emotionally and mentally. If there’s one thing I want potential clients to know, it’s that your home doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to feel good to you. And I’m here to help you create that kind of space, one step at a time.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the biggest tests of my resilience came when I first launched my home organizing business. I had left the security of a full-time job to follow a dream I deeply believed in, but the reality hit hard. For months, I had no clients. I questioned everything: whether I made the right decision, whether I was good enough, and whether people even needed what I had to offer.
But I kept going. I focused on building my skills, showing up online, and reminding myself of the “why” behind it all, helping people create calm, functional spaces that support their mental health. Slowly but surely, word began to spread. That season taught me that resilience isn’t about things going perfectly, it’s about continuing to move forward even when nothing is certain. Looking back, I’m proud I didn’t give up.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I’m still in the process of figuring out what consistently brings in new clients, but so far, word of mouth has been incredibly helpful. I’ve had a few clients refer me to friends and family, and those personal recommendations mean everything. I’ve also started showing up more on Instagram and community groups like Facebook and Nextdoor, which has helped me connect with people who didn’t know these services even existed. As I grow, I’m continuing to test what works best for reaching the people who need me most.
