We were lucky to catch up with Dana Di Iorio recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
It’s about doing something you genuinely love, staying true to your passion, and helping people feel confident in their own skin. That’s my passion—making people feel good in their skin—and it’s what drives me every single day.
But it definitely takes hard work. It means making sacrifices, staying consistent, and pushing through the tough days even when no one’s watching. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes—late nights, figuring things out alone, learning through trial and error.
At the same time, success means learning to create balance. Knowing when to rest, recharge, and protect your peace—because your energy is everything in this industry.
At the end of the day, success is doing what lights you up, helping others feel their best, and building a life that actually feels good to live.

Dana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Dana Di Iorio, a licensed cosmetologist and skincare specialist with over 15 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry. Growing up, I was always passionate about health, wellness, and lifestyle—believing that how you feel inside truly shows on the outside. I was that girl who matched her eyeshadow to her outfit and was obsessed with skincare, following an elaborate three-times-a-day routine from an early age. I’ve been a complete skincare product junkie from the start, which naturally led me into a career focused on helping people look and feel their best through self-care.
I launched my own business, DANADIIORSKIN, about four years ago, after years of working with top brands and honing my craft. Today, I provide medical-grade skincare treatments in a serene, spa-like environment where clients come not only for visible results but also for an experience that helps them relax and recharge.
What I offer goes beyond a typical facial. My signature Hydrafacial is a multi-step powerhouse that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and deeply hydrates the skin—all in one treatment. It delivers instant glow and smoother texture, perfect for anyone wanting that “red carpet ready” look. Over time, consistent treatments improve skin tone, reduce fine lines, clear congestion, and boost overall skin health.
I also specialize in advanced IS Clinical facials, SkinPen microneedling, and professional-grade chemical peels—each designed to address specific skin concerns like pigmentation, aging, acne, and texture. These treatments stimulate natural collagen production, brighten, and renew the skin, giving my clients lasting, transformative results.
What really sets me apart is my personalized approach. Every client gets a customized treatment tailored to their unique skin needs and goals. I listen carefully, pay attention to every detail, and build genuine relationships with my clients. They aren’t just numbers—they’re real people I’m invested in helping feel confident and beautiful.
I’m incredibly proud of the community I’ve built at DANADIIORSKIN—the loyal clients who trust me with their skin and self-care journey. I want potential clients to know that coming here means more than just a skincare appointment—it means investing in yourself, your confidence, and your wellbeing.
If you’re looking for treatments that are effective, luxurious, and tailored just for you—whether you want to address specific concerns or simply maintain a radiant, healthy glow—I’m here to help you achieve those results and feel amazing in your skin.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is one of the most powerful tools you can use to grow a business today. Word of mouth and building a strong reputation will always matter—but your online presence is how you communicate. It’s where potential clients find you, where current clients stay connected, and where your brand personality really comes to life.
I’ve always been intentional about my social media—even before I had a business of my own. When I was working for other spas, I used my personal Instagram to share skincare tips, showcase treatments, and bring people behind the scenes of my day-to-day in the treatment room. That consistency created curiosity, and eventually, trust. Over time, skincare became a natural part of my identity online—and that helped me build a loyal clientele before I ever had my own studio.
Stories were (and still are) my favorite way to connect. It’s where people get to know you—your energy, your personality, your passion. That’s what makes them want to book. The more authentic you are, the more people will feel your brand.
Of course, social media has evolved—now it’s reels, curated feeds, trending audio, and storytelling. I’ve learned how important it is to stay consistent, educate often, and maintain a clear visual vibe. For my page, I lean into a darker, low-exposure aesthetic—it feels elevated, moody, and true to me. I also mix business with lifestyle, because I’m not just selling services—I’m sharing a full experience. People want to know who they’re booking with, not just what they’re booking.
If you’re a future business owner, here are my social media tips:
• Show up consistently—even before you feel “ready”
• Share valuable content that educates or inspires your audience
• Use stories to show your personality and build connection
• Stay visually aligned with your brand tone and mood
• Blend your service content with lifestyle to stay relatable
• Don’t worry about perfection—focus on being intentional and real
I follow the 80/20 rule: 80 percent educational and service-based content, 20 percent lifestyle and personal moments. That balance creates trust, builds credibility, and forms real connection while effectively tailoring and educating your audience’s needs.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There was a moment, right before I started my business, when I felt completely stuck. I wasn’t happy at my last job, and I had lost all motivation. For a second, I even considered walking away from the dream and identity I had been building for years. I know—wild, right?
But something in me knew I couldn’t settle. I needed change. So, I did the scariest and most liberating thing: I bet on myself. I took every dollar I had—no backup plan, just prayer, faith, and a deep knowing that this was what I was meant to do. I’ve never felt more sure of anything in my life—and I’ll stand by that forever.
Starting out wasn’t glamorous. It was quiet. It was late nights, early mornings, and keeping my circle tight. I kept to myself, stayed focused, and took on every challenge—even the ones that felt way out of my comfort zone. I was figuring it out piece by piece, and it taught me how to become a true problem solver—resourceful, quick-thinking, and determined.
Then… I opened. And everything clicked. Bookings filled, the energy shifted, and I was hands-on with client after client—pouring my all into each facial, day after day. It was the most intense hustle I’ve ever experienced—and it felt so good. But it wasn’t just about that initial rush—it was about learning how to sustain that momentum and build something real, lasting, and aligned.
Because the truth is, business never stops evolving. Every year brings new levels, new lessons, and new challenges. Resilience isn’t just about pushing through the hard moments—it’s about trusting yourself, adapting quickly, and continuing to show up even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
This journey has brought out the best version of me. The hard work? Worth it. The hustle? Built strength. And the life I’ve created? I wouldn’t trade it for the world. 💫
