We were lucky to catch up with Kai Waldron recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kai, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What do I think it takes to be successful? Well first off, if you want to be successful in ANYTHING you do; You MUST have a relationship with God! He is the true key strength to becoming successful in anything you want. But that doesn’t mean just trust Him and then leave Him, You have to keep building a relationship with Him and put ALL of your trust in Him. Last but not least, You HAVE to work as hard as you can, don’t get lazy, don’t give up! Keep fighting through the struggles that try and stop you. And keep a great mindset or else all your hard work won’t pay off.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kai, or know as “kwmedia.” Im a 16 year old automotive photography with a camera and a vision. I’m Located in Tampa, Florida. I’ve been a Car enthusiast all my life growning up. I got into photography little over a year ago, starting with just my phone, My amazing mom got me a “practice camera” (as she would call it) off of Amazon to really see if I liked photography and was any good at it. Little did she know how good and successful I was gonna be haha! What am I most proud of? I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and what God holds for me in the future. I know and trust He has whats best for me and I can’t wait to see whats to come. I’m also so proud of my family and friends support and love, they’ve kept me going when I thought photography wouldn’t work out and I wanted to quit! What are the main things I want my potential clients or followers to know? I want them to know that im ready to make their vision become reality. Like I’ve stated before, im a 16 year old with a camera and a vision 🫡.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There has been so many times where I’ve been told that photography isn’t gonna work out, im gonna be stuck working a 9-5 job not doing what I Love (no offense to anyone working a 9-5). But I didn’t let that stop me no matter how many times I heard someone say something like that or try and bring me down to their level. I keep going no matter how many times things may not work out for me in ways I want!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal in life and especially with being an Automotive Photographer is to meet as many people as possible and make the as many connections as possible, but to really make a great relationship between everyone I meet whether it’s someone I meet at a car show, or even a client at a photoshoot. I want everyone know im not in this “industry” for the money, but for the love and connections that I make along my journey!
