We were lucky to catch up with Danielle Braund recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
From a young age, I knew I wasn’t meant for a conventional career path. Growing up in a small, religious town where most people stayed in the same job for life, I quickly realized that wasn’t the future I wanted. I’ve always felt a deep drive to express myself creatively in any form—and I knew that turning that passion into a career was the only path that truly made sense for me.

Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
After earning my BFA in Music and Theatre, I began my creative journey as a singer and musician, touring with my original albums. But I soon found myself missing the thrill of acting, which led me to dive headfirst into film and performance. Over the past several years, I’ve written, acted in, and produced a range of projects—from short films and web series to live shows. I wear many hats because when I have an idea, I do whatever it takes to bring it to life. I follow whatever form of creativity is calling me in the moment—but through it all, I’ve come to realize that my true passion lies in comedy. Whether I’m acting or writing, making people laugh is where I feel most at home.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
At the core of everything I create is a belief: our uniqueness is our superpower. I’ve spent my life resisting the pressure to fit in, and instead embracing the parts of myself that stand out. Whether I’m writing, acting, singing, or producing, there’s always a through-line—an invitation for others to lean into the very things they think make them “too much” or “not enough.” I want as many people as possible to know: what you fear makes you different is actually the key to your power. That’s where your voice lives. That’s where the magic is. Ultimately, I want to make people laugh so they can forget their troubles.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Living as a creative is just as much an art form as the work itself. It takes imagination, resilience, and constant reinvention to build a life around creativity—especially in a world that values structure, predictability, and clear definitions of success. It can be frustrating trying to explain this to people who aren’t in creative fields. They often ask for concrete proof—milestones, titles, income figures—but those snapshots rarely reflect the years of trial, error, growth, and unseen effort behind the scenes. The creative path isn’t linear, and that can be difficult for others to understand. But for those of us who live it, we know that the invisible work is just as real—and just as valuable—as the final product.
