We were lucky to catch up with Eric St Pierre recently and have shared our conversation below.
Eric, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Delphinium’s mission is to create an environment where care is honest, beauty is grounding, and healing is something we do together with touch, presence, and intention.
Delphinium was born from a deeply personal desire to create a place where healing feels like home. Our place is a calm rebellion against the sterile, transactional nature of wellness spaces. Delphinium invites people into a sanctuary that is warm, sensorially rich, and soulful.
New Orleans has art, music, and memory in its DNA, and Delphinium leans into that essence. Our massage sessions are artful, not mechanical. Our boutique is filled with antiques, local artists, and the thoughtful work of local craftspeople. Each item in our shop is chosen for the purpose of storytelling. As an author myself, this was a must when Sarah and I were dreaming up the concepts that would become Delphinium.
Part of our approach to our mission is to provide a space for learning and community. To this end, our therapists teach one another their specialty modalities. We also host classes like sound healing, breathwork, and guided meditations and intend to expand our community involvement with charitable chair massage events and additional classes.
Delphinium was dreamed up during the many walks my wife Sarah, and I took and still take on the streets of New Orleans where there is magic around every corner. We hope our little establishment reflects that magic.

Eric, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been practicing the healing art of touch since 2016. I use my craft to listen to my client’s bodies with the intent to set them at ease so that healing can begin. When going through the staffing process, I searched for therapists with the same or similar approach.
At Delphinium, we provide tailored bodywork and reiki sessions. Our boutique offers a niche selection of antiques, art, and curios items. I am most proud of the relationships we have built with each other and the community. Delphinium has the best, most caring staff I have ever known!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Sarah, my wife, is the co-founder of Delphinium. We met one early morning at a breakfast bar in New Orleans. I was on vacation and intended to do some writing when she sat next to me and struck up a conversation. We knew almost immediately that we were a great match. Sarah would bring out an ambitious aspect of my personality that needed to be watered. She did exactly that! After much discussion and dreaming, Sarah and I, on a lovely New Orleans afternoon, happened upon 3950 Magazine street as it was being vacated by the previous tenants. We knew right then that we had to act on this opportunity and were signing a lease in less than a month.

Any advice for managing a team?
The key is finding the right people. You need to find folks who can see your vision and take it even further. We have been extremely blessed to have have found the perfect crew. We all enjoy each other’s company! Other than finding the right people, you have to show some vulnerability as the boss. In other words, you have to be human around them so that trust can be built. Trust is foundational.
