We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Allison Billups. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Allison below.
Allison, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
As a video creator who shares my real-life experiences, the most rewarding part has always been seeing how I can encourage and connect with others. One video that stands out the most to me is one I filmed during the first trimester of my third pregnancy. In that video, I opened up about everything—from the highs and lows to my worries and anxieties—and how I had to surrender my fears to God. The way He used that video still amazes me. I uploaded it almost two years ago, and to this day, I still receive daily comments from moms who are walking through similar struggles. It’s been such a blessing to witness how God continues to use this channel.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Allison Billups I am 29 years old. I am married to my childhood sweetheart. Together we have 3 children and one on the way. I started my YouTube channel when I was 21. I started doing videos about makeup. I was a makeup artist at the time. After uploading content inconsistently for about a year I one day spur of the moment decided to upload a video sharing my top baby girl names. I was around 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby and honestly didn’t think anyone would watch the video but to my surprise the video blow up! That is what started my career in motherhood content. I have been documenting my motherhood journey ever since. I have made such wonderful friends along the way and have build a brand that I am truly so proud of.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I believe the best way to grow on social media is to find what works for you—and keep doing it. Too often, creators try a little of this and a little of that, then wonder why they’re not growing. The key is to figure out what you’re good at and what your audience enjoys seeing from you, then go all in on that.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a content creator, there will be times when you don’t see growth and start to wonder if anyone even cares about what you’re doing. That’s why it’s so important to pursue this kind of work for the right reasons—not for praise or a following, but because you genuinely love what you do. Even without the views or recognition, you would still be creating. The reality is, ups and downs are inevitable in this space. You just have to push through, stay passionate, and keep your creativity alive.
