We recently connected with Simo Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Simo, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Absolutely, our mission is very personal for me. Do It Fearfully was born out of a season when I felt hidden, unseen, and honestly, afraid to step into what God was calling me to do. For a long time, I struggled with confidence, people-pleasing, and feeling like my voice didn’t matter. What changed everything for me was a revelation from Psalm 139:14, that being “fearfully and wonderfully made” isn’t about shrinking back in timidity, but about moving with reverence and boldness because of Who created me.
I realized so many people, especially women, live beneath their calling because fear, shame, or the pressure to conform holds them back. I wanted to create something that didn’t just look good on the outside but would spark meaningful conversations about faith, purpose, and identity. Our mission is to encourage believers to move forward, not absent of fear, but full of reverence for God’s calling, knowing that what’s inside of them is sacred, powerful, and meant to be seen.
This mission matters to me because I’ve lived the alternative, I know what it’s like to play small and feel unworthy. My hope is that everything we do, whether it’s apparel, devotionals, or community, reminds people that their story, their gifts, and their faith matter. Ultimately, it’s not about selling a product; it’s about commissioning a movement of people who live boldly for God.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who are just meeting me, my name is Simonette (C-mo-nay) but everyone calls me Simo, and I wear a few hats, Ministry Leader, faith-based entrepreneur, author, graphic designer, wife, and full-time working mom. My journey into this work started from a place of deep personal struggle as I mentioned. For years, I wrestled with feeling unseen, battling confidence issues, and constantly putting others’ needs before my own. That struggle, combined with a relentless pursuit of God’s truth, birthed my brand and ministry, “Do It Fearfully.”
“Do It Fearfully” began as a faith-based apparel and journal company, but it’s truly grown into a movement and community. We offer apparel, guided journals, and tumblers, all designed not just to look good, but to remind people of who they are in Christ and to spark conversations about faith and bold identity.
My heart is to help people, especially women, overcome fear, step into their God-given calling, and live lives marked by reverence, courage, and authenticity. So many of us are weighed down by the pressure to fit in or hide our struggles. I want my products and content to serve as daily reminders that you are called, seen, and set apart, and that you don’t have to walk your journey alone.
What sets “Do It Fearfully” apart is our intentionality. Every design and product is rooted in scripture and personal experience. We’re not just selling shirts or journals; we’re inviting people into a Kingdom assignment, a call to walk boldly and fearfully (in reverence) in their purpose. We’ve even shifted from selling apparel to creating a powerful devotional which allows us to go even deeper, building into mentorship and discipleship experiences. We recognize that this is about equipping and commissioning, not just fashion.
I’m most proud of the stories I’ve received from people whose lives have been touched, women who found new confidence, people who started conversations about God just because of a shirt they wore, and communities that have rallied around the mission.
If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that you are not alone, your story matters, and you were made to live boldly, not without fear, but full of faith and reverence for the One who created you. “Do It Fearfully” isn’t just a brand; it’s an invitation to join a community committed to living on purpose, with purpose.
Whether you connect through our devotionals, upcoming mentorship, or just a single conversation, my hope is that you leave encouraged and empowered to become all God created you to be.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely. This is actually a recent and significant part of my journey. I founded Do It Fearfully in 2023, and over the past year, I felt a strong nudge from God calling me deeper. It wasn’t just about selling shirts or outward expressions of faith anymore; it was about truly living out that message and equipping others to do the same.
I spent months seeking God for direction, even though it meant leaving what was comfortable and familiar. Through prayer and confirmation, I realized my assignment wasn’t just about the clothing, it was about refining my own confidence in Christ and helping others do the same. The real mission was about guiding, encouraging, and building community for people to walk boldly and unapologetically in their purpose.
So, even though it felt uncomfortable, I began shifting from just apparel to creating deeper experiences, devotionals, mentorship, and discipleship resources, to help others live out “Do It Fearfully” in their daily lives. This pivot has challenged me to stay aligned with God’s heart and ensure I’m truly equipping people for whatever comes their way. God has shown me that real impact comes from pouring into people, not just products.
Looking back, I can see this pivot was necessary, not just for the brand, but for my own growth. I have always loved to wear things that represent a feeling or aspiration. That is what Do It Fearfully was for me. I wore it every day and literally drank my coffee in one of the tumblers every day. It was a constant reminder and goal of growth. It’s taught me to listen closely to God’s leading and trust Him, even when it means letting go of what seems successful. Now, I’m walking in my true calling: equipping and commissioning others for Kingdom purpose

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that really illustrates my resilience is my journey through surgical menopause after my total hysterectomy double ovary removal. This is a big example so I will try to not be long-winded. Losing not just my health as I knew it, but also my energy, confidence, and sense of normalcy was a huge blow. There were days when I could barely get out of bed, and everything felt like a battle, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Not understanding what was happening and how quickly things changed I felt like I was learning who I was all over again. I had this surgery in 2019 but the biggest impact was mid 2024 and ongoing.
But even in those lowest moments, I leaned into my faith. I literally cried out to God, I let myself be honest about my struggles, and I surrounded myself with community. Little by little, God reminded me that my worth and identity were not tied to what I could do or how strong I felt in my body, but in Him. I had to rebuild my routines, my mindset, and my health almost from scratch. I was honest about it all on social media too. It wasn’t quick or easy, but I didn’t give up. That phrase Do It Fearfully was that reminder I needed, to fight and continue to be who God says I am. It was just another deeper part of my growth that set me up for what is being built.
That season further refined me. It taught me empathy for others fighting silent battles, and it’s the reason I’m so passionate about helping people walk boldly in their purpose, even when life gets hard. Resilience, for me, isn’t just about bouncing back; it’s about trusting God in the messy, unfinished places and choosing to keep going. It’s rough out here for us women and I just want to bring light to those who truly need it.
