We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christi Given a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christi , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew since I was a little girl that I wanted to sing and I began songwriting at the age of 12 years old. I released my music professionally by 2010-2011. I released my song “The Other Side (Amazing Grace)” in 2013 and my music video (2014) was placed on a music TV network. I have continued in my artistry and still release new music today.
I signed a sync TV deal in the fall of 2016 and had my first placements by January 2017 on television. I have over 350 songs that I wrote and performed on networks like A&E, Bravo, Lifetime, E! You may have heard my music on tv shows such as “Dance Moms,” “Below Deck,” “Bling Empire,” and more.

Christi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I help people find their true purpose and calling. Aside from music, I have a consulting business where I help teach people how to self-publish their music and books. I have masterclasses and webinars. I am also a self- published author on Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
What is the most rewarding is to be able to help and inspire people. I love producing music and also assisting others in how to step into their purpose, and to find their passion. What I enjoy about being an artist is seeing a vision and or goal I set and it coming to pass. For example: a book idea, a song idea and seeing it come to life on TV, on Spotify, iTunes, and more. Hearing how your passion or projects have helped others is so fulfilling. I enjoy being an entrepreneur because it gives me the freedom to be creative and pursue the things that I love to do.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The best way to support artists and indie songwriters and singers like me is to find them on your music platforms. I have a couple new songs, “Mama’s Boy” and “Beauty For Ashes,” that you can listen to by downloading the iTunes app and getting the song for 99 cents. Another option is to find me “Christi Given” on Spotify, Apple Music, and all platforms that you listen to music.
Subscribing to my Youtube Channel and other artists helps them spread their message as well. Thank you for the support and for checking out my music.
