Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alandra Christante. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Three things are key to success… 1.) It is my belief that self-confidence is key in the success of any person. A healthy esteem only boosts your confidence and ensures success in any venture. 2.) Having the proper resources and a strong support system also helps in reaching the goal of success. 3.) An abundance of knowledge of your area of expertise, and knowing how to execute is also key to success.

Alandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Since my sophomore year of high school, I’ve loved the artistry of hair. Granted it took a couple of decades for my dream of becoming a professional hair stylist to come into fruition, it did not stop me from perfecting my craft over the years.
After high school, I went on to college where I obtained a Bachelor of Art from North Carolina State University. Within two years of graduation, I started my professional career in the legal field where I spent 14 years as a Paralegal/Office Manager. I later obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Strayer University. After 12 years of working in corporate america, I realized that entrepreneurship was in my future. The passion that I had in high school was still burning deep inside, just now in the industry of natural hair. In 2016 I enrolled in the Durham Beauty Academy for a certification in Natural Hair Care, and graduated in 2017 with the Superlative Award for Most Creative. In June 2017 I opened A Natural Nuance Hair Spa, Inc., and began assisting women with their natural hair journey.
After being in the natural hair care industry, I realized that there was a large percentage of my clients that suffer from hair loss. I was seeing hair loss in women from ages 5 to 80. Therefore, I began my journey in education to learn more about the strengthening of and restoring hair. I studied and earned my certification as a Clinical Trichologist through the American Medical Certification Association. As a certified Clinical Trichologist, I study issues and disorders related to hair and scalp, and their treatments. Now I have the knowledge to recognize issues and disorders that causes hair loss, and I can effectively address these concerns. There aren’t too many stylists (no matter the genre) who are educated in hair restoration. Having my certification as a Natural Hair Care Specialist and Clinical Trichologist, it allows me to the opportunity to greater assist women. Let’s call it a One Stop Shop!!! I stress that overall health is the key to healthy hair. It is my goal to educate the masses on how to obtain and maintain healthy hair and a healthy scalp.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe that my knowledge of craft, professionalism and superb customer service has helped to build my reputation within my industry. All of the above has molded me into the business woman that I am today, and left my clients pleased with the services that I provide and confidence that only someone who cares could provide. It is also my belief that it is important to build lasting relationships that will provide trust and care. I often say that my clients are not just clients, they are my extended family.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients referrals from current clients, and organic traffic through my website.
