We recently connected with Bryan Colvin II and have shared our conversation below.
Bryan , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It all started with a scroll.
One day, I was aimlessly scrolling through social media when an ad caught my eye. Someone was showcasing a sleek, modern photo booth at an event. It looked fun, interactive, and like a guaranteed way to turn a regular party into an unforgettable experience. I kept scrolling, but that idea stuck with me.
Over the next few months, photo booths seemed to follow me everywhere, at parties, events, and back on my feed. I’d see them in action, watch people laugh, strike poses, and walk away with printed memories. Each time I thought, that would be a dope business to have. I could see myself doing that.
Then one night, that same photo booth ad popped up again. I happened to be talking to my girlfriend at the time. She runs a skincare brand and has been growing it with so much passion and drive—it’s been inspiring to witness. We got to talking about the idea, and she encouraged me to really think about it seriously. Watching her build something of her own gave me the motivation to do the same.
A few days later, I took the leap and bought my first booth.
With her help and some late-night brainstorming sessions, we built the brand from the ground up. That one spark of inspiration turned into a business that’s now thriving—bringing excitement, energy, and memories to every event we touch.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Bryan Colvin II, founder of Colvii Corporations, and I got into the photo booth industry after seeing how much energy, fun, and unforgettable memories they brought to people. What started as a simple idea while scrolling on social media quickly turned into a full-blown passion. Inspired by watching my girlfriend grow her skincare brand and learning the ins and outs of business through her journey, I decided to take a leap and invest in my first photo booth and I haven’t looked back since.
At Colvii Corporations, we specialize in providing unique, interactive photo booth experiences for all types of events from weddings and birthday parties to brand activations, baby showers, and corporate events. Our services include high-quality photos, customized overlays, instant and digital photo sharing, themed props, and sleek backdrops that match any vibe.
We help our clients solve the challenge of keeping guests entertained and giving them something memorable to take home. No more dull events or missed photo ops. Our booths are the life of the party and keep people talking long after the event ends.
What sets us apart? It’s our attention to detail, our creative customization options, and our commitment to turning every event into a one-of-a-kind experience. We aren’t always just booth attendants, we interact with guest and ensure that we are not just snapping pictures but we’re creating forever moments. Whether it’s capturing a laugh, a pose, or a celebration, we bring the vibes and the memories to match.
I’m most proud of taking a simple idea and turning it into a growing, successful business that brings joy to people. I started with no background in the industry, just vision, drive, and a belief in myself. What makes me proud isn’t just the photo booths themselves, but the reactions I see when people use them, the laughter, the excitement, the memories being made. Knowing that I’ve created something that adds real value to celebrations means everything to me.
I want my clients to know that I truly care about their experience. I don’t treat events like just another job. I treat them like they’re my own. You come to us as a client and when we leave it feels like family. Every detail, from the design of the photo template to the vibe of the setup, is customized with care. I’m hands-on, dependable, and passionate about making sure every guest walks away smiling. I’m here to help elevate every moment and create something unforgettable.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Starting my photo booth business was exciting but no one really talks about the quiet moments of doubt, delays, or disappointment that come after the launch. I remember getting my first booth, full of motivation, ready to take over the event scene. I thought the bookings would come rolling in right away… but they didn’t.
There were weeks when I didn’t get a single inquiry. I questioned myself, wondered if I had made the right investment, and even considered giving it all up. I was learning everything from scratch, marketing, tech setup, client communication and every mistake felt personal. There were events where things didn’t go as planned like tech glitches, slow nights, cancellations. But I kept showing up. I kept learning.
What kept me going was the “why” behind it all. I didn’t get into this just to make money. I got into it because I saw how this could bring joy and connection to people. I thought about how far I’d come, how much I’d learned, and how I wasn’t about to quit just because it got hard.
So I adjusted. I refined my packages, built stronger branding, networked, asked questions, showed up even when I was nervous. And slowly, the work started coming in. Clients started referring others. People started recognizing the name. What once felt like a risky idea became something solid and it’s still growing.
Resilience, for me, wasn’t just about pushing through, it was about learning to bet on myself even when things were uncertain. I’m proud of that. Never quit.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
There was a time in my life when I thought I had a set path. Working hard, staying in my lane, and chasing stability over creativity. But deep down, I always knew I was meant for more. I wanted more and different. The real shift came when I started feeling stuck, watching others build, create, and live out their visions while I was just getting by.
One day, while scrolling through social media, I saw a video of a photo booth company at an event. I didn’t think much of it at first, but the idea stayed in the back of my mind. Over time, I kept seeing photo booths pop up at parties and on my timeline. I started imagining myself running something like that, bringing energy, fun, and real moments to events. Still, I didn’t act on it right away.
Then came the turning point. I was talking to my girlfriend and she told me, *”You could really do this. You have the eye and the mindset to make it work.”* Watching her go after her dreams and grow her brand sparked something in me. That was the moment I decided to pivot. Not just in career, but in mindset. I stopped waiting for the “right time” and created it.
I invested in my first photo booth just days later.
Starting from zero, I learned everything I could. From branding and design to client experience and marketing, I threw myself into building something from the ground up. It was a full 180 from where I had been before—mentally, emotionally, and professionally.
That pivot taught me that you’re allowed to change direction. You’re allowed to chase new dreams. And sometimes, your next chapter begins the moment you stop doubting your ability to do it.
